The location is great. It's easy to get to where you need to go. It's quiet. I rated the rooms based on the showers and office. Everything was clean and operational.  The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. We would certainly stay there again. Plenty of space to walk the girls.

Families with dogs will have a good time  if you are okay with very close rustic camping.
We were just passing through for the night. The interior roads were very rutted. Ground was dirt( I know, it’s the ground) no grass or gravel. We will plan trips to avoid stopping in Lansing.

Great little park. I was concerned about the reviews but our stay was great. Check-in was easy, the staff very nice.  Bathrooms were clean and it was easy on and off freeway.  We did an overnight.

And we didn't not pay a surcharge for air conditioning or heat.

Rude staff. Man with pony tail is on power trip. Got mad that our car was parked on the neighbors site even tho they didn’t care and their was 14 other open spots. Was very rude about it  ,  shaking his head. Shaking his head over me driving “too fast when we left”
Another man got mad that my 3 year old head freezer open too long picking out ice cream. I don’t get the negativity. Their is one super hard working women their that deserves a raise! I saw her getting trash on the golf cart, trimming plants, she was very pleasant behind the counter. Everytime we saw her she was nothing but smiles. Everyone take a lesson from her. We spent too much money here to be treated this way. And your campsites are right on top of each other. Do better

Came here with my 29' travel trailer for a weekend of local events. Excellent location and great family-friendly atmosphere. Mostly seasonal campers, I suspect, but they were kind to us weekenders and my kids were able to make friends easily. Well-kept pool and playground and washroom/shower facilities. Would DEFINITELY return next time I'm in the area. And the name is no joke - there was cottonwood fuzz as thick as clouds all over the air :)

Camp sites where on top of each other no fire pits no signing for what site is what would  make a nice camp if it had room should take out the 2nd baseball field 😔 won't be back

We stopped here for three nights because our youngest had hockey camp at MSU. It was convenient, and sites were small but easy to access (pull through). Office staff was LOVELY and helpful. Two words of caution: Watch your stuff; we had things stolen out of our site (to be clear, this is NOT the staff's fault - they were amazing; there are bad apples everywhere), and the mosquitoes (thanks to the ponds in the campground) are absolutely horrendous. SO bad. Even during the day.

This wouldn't keep me from staying here again - as I said, great location, wonderful staff, well-kept campground. We'll be back.

Our first experience with Cottonwood was fantastic! Everything was clean and well kept. Pool was large and clean. We took out paddleboard and the next day kayaks. The only thing that would of made it better is full hookup on the water sites. :) The staff was  super friendly and store prices were great. Grankids loved it too.

We camp rusticly, so the 'rooms' are the campsites. We've been here repeatedly, and they're always tidy with scrapes of wood off just a stones throw in the brush. This year we made it for the fireworks, and they were memorably amazing! Took me straight back to my childhood. They went on for, I believe, a solid thirty minutes, and the smoke cleared out all mosquitoes quite well. The owners and workers are super friendly and accommodating, and even had a free water balloon fight for today! It was so funny! I love sitting in the campsite and all I hear is the wind in the trees.

We have always enjoyed our stays at Cottonwood. The owners and staff are wonderful. They go the extra mile for campers. They work hard to be sure you have a site you like. The location is beautiful also with shady sites. They keep it very clean. The runoff when it rains is a problem with some lake sites, but we just put boards to step on when that happens. We like the reception we get for our TVs and computers. We enjoy the ball games and fireworks too. It’s a lovely place to walk and has rustic camping. We get sites that have water and electric. We have never had a problem with either and they have a sign up sheet for gray and black water removal at a reasonable price. Their store has necessary items at a decent price. It’s a nice place to stay the night or for the summer. It’s conveniently located in Lansing. We like it and have stayed often.

Sites not level, at least in the north section which we were in and I am not sure about the south section. 30 amp and water; sewer dump station only but for $$ they will come to you site and empty your holding tank. Mostly long-term camping from what I could see. I saw several construction company trucks in our section. Small lake for fishing. No campfires permitted at this time by fire marshall. Staff was friendly and helpful. Store was very small and very basic in supplies. If you use their map on their web site you will have no problems; it got me lost and had to drive extra miles to get to the campground. Lots of sights nearby like the capital and the U of M and minor league baseball stadium, all easy to get to from the campground. - Review provided by RV Park Recommendations & Reviews Facebook Group
