We camped here in November and it was a bit cold but I loved the campsite! We were right on the lake, the area was well maintained, there’s a bathroom and a dumpster on site, there are picnic tables for each site, the payment process is easy, and it feels like you’re far from the hustle of city life which is what I wanted.

Primitive campground, one pit toilet & dumpster. No potable water. ~20 first come first served sites. Decent sized sites, not a lot of privacy between sites. Mostly shaded. Small access shore to lake. Google tried to bring us in through a closed road. Highly recommend coming in via 49 to Gatlin Point Rd. Very buggy at night. We came here to find a quiet place to camp during the week, only 2 other sites had people, but of course those people were unfortunately loud at times. If you need to play music while at a place like this, many of us would appreciate it if you'd turn it down- we don't want to hear it from the other side of the campground.

Great spot but very run down. If you charge for camping you MUST do driveway maintenance. A regular car would bottom out in more than half of the driveway inside the campground. DO THE MAINTENANCE! THAT'S WHAT WE PAY FOR!

Been camping here for decades. It has declined ever since the Forestry Service took over. TVA was much better at it. I told a Forestry agent I was staying for 3 weeks. He stated I could only be there for 21 days. I said all I planned to stay was 3 weeks. He screamed at me that I can only stay 21 days. I looked at him for a while...he figured it out. There have been many other situations with their agents. They all have attitudes. Camps are nasty, the roads are terrible. Be sure to drive an off road vehicle.

Nice little place that's easy to get to and out of the way. Each area has a fire pit and bench. The areas vary in size but are still big enough for a camper. I would come here again.

Cute little campground perfect for tent or popup camping. No hookups, but fire rings and pit toilet on site. Love access to Bard's Lake & Gatlin Point
