- Direct access to a concrete boat ramp for easy lake entry.
- Spacious, wooded sites equipped with picnic tables and fire rings.
- Essential facilities including vault toilets and access to potable water.
The absence of electrical hookups ensures a quiet atmosphere, free from the constant hum of machinery, allowing the sounds of the forest to take center stage.

Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to explore just a short drive from their campsite. The Elk & Bison Prairie offers a chance to see majestic animals in their native habitat, while the Golden Pond Planetarium provides educational stargazing opportunities. History buffs should visit the Homeplace 1850s Working Farm to experience pioneer life. For those who prefer being on the water, the lake is famous for its world-class crappie and bass fishing, with many secluded coves to explore by boat.

Beautiful park. We mostly drove through looking. We stopped at an area we walked down to lake. Beautiful marina and restaurant. Nice boat slips and launches. Swimming area. Picnic area with tables. Walking trails. Great for walking or biking. Highly recommended

The LBL is such an amazing piece of untouched land. There are so much vastness here of just nature and wilderness. We spent 4 days overlanding all through the LBL and exploring the untouched wilderness. We would take our off-road vehicles, and drive down empty dirt roads just to find out if there’s any beautiful campsites at the end. Many roads will end right on the water, into a beautiful campsite.

Took the trail at hematite lake 2.2 miles was an easy trail if you can walk over 2 miles. There was a 5ree down on the trail but it was easily gone around. Definitely will be back . Great place for family fun . There is a map at the trail head along with a QR code to get a map of the trail on your phone.

A great place! The Hillman Ferry campground is fantastic and has many fun things to do. The bathrooms are clean and shower facilities are nice too. The biking paths could use some maintenance and the bike path maps should be updated. The bison and elk reserve is amazing. What a great experience.

Stayed here for two days in the campground: Taylor Bay. For my first time in Kentucky, I enjoyed this a ton. Beautiful sights, tons of activities, and good camping. I went on one of the hiking trails, visited the planetarium, and the nature station. Land Between the Lakes has to be one of my favorite state parks so far.
