Very nice overnight stay. It was our first time visiting. We just needed the one night stay. It was very late in the season, they were getting ready to close down for the winter season. Would definitely come back and spend a week.

Very friendly staff, clean campground. My only disappointment was the seasonal creek was dry . I know they have no control over that other then maybe stating that on website. I.paid more for creekside site not knowing it was dried up. Other then that very nice experience!

The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The park was quiet and really pretty sitting in the bottom of a canyon. Getting to the park from the highway was interesting, 3.5 miles of windy narrow road. Not a problem, just unexpected and kind of exciting. The park is not a resort, so expect small rv’s, tents, and groups in cabins. I am not saying we won’t stay there again, but probably not. It was close enough to Durango for us and on the highway we were leaving on. We spent 3 nights there, so we did experience the park.

The Gonzo Hunter rarely gives 5 stars but when a place deserves it like this one then I give them freely! I can't say enough good things about this place (besides it being owned now by a corporation & no longer family run), but let's go down the list. First off, the campground mgrs Jessie & Tyler were spectacular, so friendly & efficient. The grounds themselves were immaculate & old growth shady trees ensured that you had shade for at least some part of the day in every campsite. There is a small fenced dog park for those traveling with dogs, the pool was so clean, refreshing & amazing, & the campground itself was so quiet at night since it is tucked up away on a dead end road about 5 or so miles from downtown Durango, so also very conveniently located. I extended my stay to stay the whole week instead of just the 3 initial days I was going to stay because this place is so worth it! You can tell it has been an established campground for decades, formerly the Lightner Creek Campground. There is also a cute playground for the kiddos, clean bath & shower houses (2), laundry facilities & awesome cabins of different sizes to accommodate couples or families. Should you decide to stay here you will NOT be disappointed!!

HTR Durango was an incredible experience. We originally booked two nights and then extended one night because we loved our experience so much. The location is outstanding, under 15 minutes and you're in downtown Durango. Great hikes all close by. We had an amazing full hookups RV spot on the creek, which is clean and crystal clear and very refreshing. We felt we had sufficient privacy (this is a campground, expect to see and hear other people) but the privacy surpassed our expectations. Hookups worked and the entire facility and property is so well-run. Staff is always around offering assistance just checking in to ensure everything is going well. We didn't want to leave to go home. We will be back! Best campground experience we've ever had!

My husband and I stayed here 3 nights with our small camper. Easy pull-through sites with full hookups. This campsite is located in a canyon with plenty of shade trees. It was very quiet and nice here. Staff were friendly. Bathrooms VERY clean! We liked that it was only a few minutes from Durango. Great motorcycle riding out here. They have laundry facilities, a dog run, playground, yard games, and a pool. We would definitely stay here again if we're ever back in the area again! The only tiny complaint I have is the wifi didn't work. It had strong signal, just wouldn't connect. We couldn't figure it out but it wasn't a big deal not to have it because we still got 4g.

This is my second year visiting this campground and both times have been fantastic! The campground is nestled in a beautiful mountain canyon with great shade trees at all campsites. The owners and staff are amazing and very helpful and the grounds and bathhouse are well kept and very clean. There is a great pool and playground for the kids and a grassy dog park. The staff can point you to some stellar mountain biking, hiking, fishing and boating all within just a few miles of the campground. Located only 5 miles west of Durango I can't say enough about this place. I'll be back next year!

Great outdoor experience at this campground. The access to the area attractions were convenient. Park was well maintained with grassy areas, blacktop roads. Aspen and Pine growing up the mountain side with views!! Our site was large with privacy, big rig sites were closer to each other but still had privacy on patio side.. Beautiful pool! Staff very genuine and helpful, on the premises working. Hot spots for wifi near office and laundry, need a booster at site. Highly recommend park.

Juniper and camp hosts work hard to give you a great experience. She is friendly, helpful and makes you feel like a special guest. When you pull in she will furnish you with whatever you need and wants to make sure you are satisfied with your stay. We stayed there 6 weeks this summer and hope to go back soon...

This is a great place to waste your money if you like loud, crowded spaces and no help, service or assistance. Management is nearly impossible to get a hold of and are absolutely willing to take your money and provide no assistance. My arrival was extremely confusing and no employees were around to assist. I was even insulted by the management in an email for not seeing the designated area for picking up my key. The campground was loud until 12pm and had children walking up into camp at 2am. I contacted the management to let them know of my disappointment and to request a refund for my last two nights as they claimed the campground to be quiet and comfortable. I was perfectly fine with paying a cleaning deposit and the night I stayed and was directly told that I would receive no refund, apology or assistance. Do not trust the management at this location. They purposefully have office hours of 3pm-7pm to avoid people and are virtually impossible to get a hold of when needed. They are absolutely okay with ripping off completely dissatisfied customers. Buyer beware. UPDATE: The campground owner has given me a no trespassing notice on top of not refunding my last two nights after leaving this review. Not only will they take your money, they will leave you with no place to stay.
