Little Black Creek Campground & Park, Lumberton, MS

Stayed in bungalow 5. Park was mostly empty with the winter storm coming down.  Park looks great, updated from my last stay years ago. Staff was friendly.

We decided to spend Thanksgiving at Little Black Creek, Site #2. I absolutely loved the peace and tranquility of our location. I loved the country atmosphere, the hills, and being right next to the lake. I have zero complaints. As far as the Internet goes, we used our data and Hotspots to watch TV and to get online. The only downside was that my 15 year old was bored. The fish weren't biting due to the beautiful, cold weather, and that's what he was looking forward to. We also normally go to resort campgrounds, so he didn't have access to basketball courts, putput golf, pickleball courts, and all the other things teens like. Besides his complaining, everything was wonderful! We will be back, especially when the fish are biting! I recommend this campground!

Camped in the “old section,” in a camper and had a clam tent popped up for rain and picnic tables. There was not a single other camper around. 2 adults. 4 children.  Had the staff come over and tell us if we didn’t take the tent down they would call the police to remove us from the campground. Bathrooms had no toilet seats or shower heads.

Incredibly beautiful park with a huge lake and 2 phenomenal disc golf courses. I stayed on site for The Climo Open Big Rip X, and it was a blast!

I love this place, but the price for camping is insane. You should really set aside areas for Primitive camping or change your rates. I was very excited to bring my family there to camp until I found out primitive camping is 60 dollars a night with a two night minimum. You would probably have more business if you charged decent rates and policies.

Called while traveling to see if they had available spots and lady said she would take our information and  had us pay for our spot. Less than an hour later we arrived. What a mess. We didn’t feel like this was the right spot for us. Just had that uneasy feeling. We were told to just go park somewhere over there. I told my wife I don’t think we should stay here. I’d feel more comfortable sleeping on the road somewhere. Tried to get a refund. Not! No refund.

I gave an overall 3 only because it’s overpriced!  I’ve stayed at much nicer parks at half the cost.  There are no grills so bring your own and way too many restrictions.  But it is beautiful, quiet, and I love the distance between sites.  I won’t be back unless the price goes down. Not sure why it’s so high priced, I can stay at the beach for what I paid to stay here.  Happy Camping!

Great campground and park, situated alongside a 640 acre lake.  The 100+ campsites are spacious and nicely spread out.  Many are hillside, with patios or decks to provide room to sit out and enjoy the surroundings.

There are several play areas, a swim beach, an extensive frisbee golf course, fishing and boating.  My dogs and I walked over 4 miles this morning, without leaving the park or going around in circles.

This would be a great place to spend a week with your family!

Great campground. Beautiful lake side RV spots with full hookups. Will go back again! Idk why it's asking me questions about the hotel. We stayed in the campground. They do have really cool cabins too though.

Awful Experience – Unsafe, Unprofessional, and Overpriced

Our family trip to Little Black Creek was an absolute nightmare. We paid for a cabin that had no heat, and our babies froze the entire first night. They never fixed the heater—they just dropped off firewood and called it a day. They told us we’d receive a refund for the inconvenience, but of course, we never saw a penny.

We also rented a golf cart for $100, and while using it with small children, the tire completely fell off. We later found out the bolts weren’t even tightened properly. We broke down with kids on board—it was unsafe and completely unacceptable. The office blamed us, claiming our 16-year-old niece drove it (with their permission) and that somehow it was our fault.

The next day, we tried to rent another golf cart to salvage what was left of the trip. Despite everything, they charged us another $100, and the moment we asked for a refund after being treated rudely, they said “we don’t do refunds.” So now we’re out $200, all for carts that weren’t even properly maintained.

On top of all that, they charged us a $107 cleaning fee, yet provided no sheets, no towels, not even a sponge to clean dishes. We brought everything ourselves, cleaned the cabin thoroughly, and they still tried to say it smelled like cigarettes—which is outrageous because no one in our family smokes.

The staff was rude, careless, and dismissive. We went hoping for a peaceful family getaway and left feeling scammed, unsafe, and incredibly frustrated.

Do NOT waste your time or money at Little Black Creek. They don’t care about their guests, their safety, or their word. Just your wallet.
