Little River RV Park Campground is located in Fort Payne, Alabama. It is a family-friendly campground that offers a variety of amenities and activities for all ages. The campground features full hook-up sites, a swimming pool, a playground, a game room, a camp store, and a laundry facility. There are also several hiking trails and fishing spots nearby. The campground is open year-round and offers daily, weekly, and monthly rates.

Little River RV Park & Campground

From the moment we pulled into the RV park, we were greeted by the owner who was hospitable, kind and informative. He knew we had large dogs for a local dog show we were attending and gave us one of his best sites for us to put up our mobile dog fences.

There were plenty of stores within a 10-15 mile radius as well as restaurants.

The staff was very friendly as were the full-timers. They had a barbeque on Saturday evening and invited us to join in. We met several very nice people and we will definitely return next year!

This campground is a diamond in the rough, nestled in the mountains of Ft Payne Alabama. 15 minutes from restaurants and shopping but buried in the rural wooded mountain side. The owners are improving and have a great vision for this site. It's not like a lot of campgrounds where there is nothing but pavement and no trees and you have to rent shade. This campground for those of us that like to camp in the rough but still want modern conveniences look no further. Plenty of trees and buried in nature, hiking trails within the campground and a nice pond. Management is always on site and ready and willing to assist in any way to make sure your excursion is a success. During our stay we discovered the sewer was not draining but Mark the Manager was already addressing the issue and had a crew out the next day and repaired the pipe, which I was impressed especially since it involved digging up the road to do it, lol. I can't say enough good things about Little River Campground, a family atmosphere between all campers and actually they had a community grill out during our stay and supplied the hamburgers and hotdogs and all guests were invited. If your going to be in the Ft. Payne area and looking for a nice little place to call home for a few days or longer don't pass the opportunity to stay at Little River Campground, you won't regret it. This campground was okay. We called the day before as you can’t book online, picked a specific site that we knew would fit our large toy hauler and had grass for our dogs. We showed up and someone was in our site we booked. Slightly annoying but not a deal breaker. We stayed in a site right at the front not near most of them so I didn’t get to see most of the place. Bathrooms were gross, hang out building was dirty. Overall not a horrible place but not somewhere I’d plan to stay again.

Very nice campground and friendly/helpful staff. Was very easy to book online, check in, check out.

I chose Little River Campground for a quick 2 night stay near DeSoto and Little River Canyon. Booking with them was much easier last-minute than trying to book with DeSoto State Park. The campground manager was very prompt and helpful with my reservation and kindly suggested a site near the entrance. It was a great size for my camper, partially shaded (which was perfect), and had plenty of space. I was very pleased with the actual campsite. The facilities were also nice, and the distance to Little River Canyon was very close.

That said, as a solo female camper, I did not always feel comfortable. This campground has recently been purchased by a new owner, and while improvements are being made, there are still concerns. It appears that some individuals live here full-time, and there aren’t many regulations regarding appearances. Most long-term residents kept to themselves, but one was overly persistent in conversation, asking questions that made me feel uneasy even after I gave hints that I wanted to be left alone. While there were no direct threats, the atmosphere left my safety feeling questionable. I would not have felt comfortable there with my children.

If you’re looking for a long-term spot, this may be a fine choice. But if you’re traveling through, vacationing, or especially if you’re a solo female camper, you may feel more at ease at DeSoto or another state park.

From a business perspective, it feels as though the new owner is trying to weave together two different models—long-term residency and short-term vacation camping. Perhaps he is transitioning, or perhaps trying to merge both. I'm sure this will only improve over time as it appears the new owner and management are attempting to turn this campground into a positive experience.

This was a very chill campground. We stayed 4 nights in a tent, and it was amazing. The view was beautiful. The rest of the guests were calm and chill. We'll be using it again.

It looks like the campground is under new ownership. They are doing a great job of making improvements. As with most older campgrounds, there are many permanent campers. Some very run down, cluttered sites.  The first group of sites closest to the office appear to be new. The landscaping is beautiful. This is the first campground I've been at with extremely good wifi.

I plan to return and support the new owners. Their biggest challenge will be to clean up or remove some rvs.

Great camp ground with showers and bathrooms. Love the camp ground vibe.

Met a local that lives on the campground, he's very helpful and has lots of hiking advice and will tell you anything you need to know.

Great little campground but if you need Internet for work, choose somewhere else. We have been here for 6 weeks with terrible internet. Had to leave the campground to send a work report. Very frustrating.

Beautiful place in Alabama. The campground is very well kept. Clean bath house/restrooms. Staff is extremely friendly. Nice small req center for kids. Small little pond to get a hook wet. Nothing to brag about on the amount of fish or size of pond. All in all I definitely recommend.

My wife and I had a wonderful time camping here over the weekend.  The campground was in a perfect location.  Close to the little river canyon as well as close to town.   The sites were nicely spaced out and very level.  It was super peaceful and quiet which was a big deal for us.  The bathrooms were clean and there was even a place to buy firewood on site.

Janet was who coordinated our reservation and was super friendly and welcoming. I swear, the nicest people live in Dekalb County.  Everything was great 👍.  The worst part about the weekend was having to leave... But we will be back!

This is a great little Campground. Tim and Janet make sure that it’s clean, quiet, well organized and a place that always feels like home. We will be staying for six weeks and Definitely will be coming back for longer periods of time. We just love this place! I guarantee you, you will too.

Janet, the owner, was absolutely wonderful. Since this was one of our first RV trips, she was extremely helpful and patient explaining the different "hook up" and space options - power, sewer, water, pull through space or one you need to back into, etc. After we made our reservation, she sent several text messages with restaurant recommendations, things to do, and very good directions to the park. The park itself is quite, clean, and well maintained. The bathrooms and shower were VERY clean and there was plenty of hot water. Firewood for a "camp fire," and ice are  available for a nominal fee, which was really handy! It appears there are several permanent residents. Many have landscaped and decorated their spots and which gives it a cosy and comfortable atmosphere. Clearly they have pride in their "homes" and are happy with the RV park too. Our RV neighbors were from all over the country and without exception, were so friendly and very respectful.
The park is dog friendly as long as they are on a leash. There were a lot of families with children, but again, everyone was quite and respectful of their "neighbors" and privacy.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will be back!
