Beware: these sites are not travel trailer friendly. We booked two nights but upon arriving, we realized that there was no way to fit our trailer (only 25 ft). Trees were growing up in all the sites that were available and most of the ones without trees in the way were pointing in the wrong direction for backing into and NONE were level. Called the office, they told us what other sites were available and we tried every one. Only one was remotely suitable for a travel trailer and we had to drive the wrong way through the loop to be at the right angle to even try backing it in. No luck. I’m honestly shocked that they label some of these sites as RV friendly because wow. We left and had to find other accommodations. Trying to get a refund and currently navigating their phone system/trying to get a refund. Three phone conversations later and I’ll have to call another number on Monday to get the right person to issue the refund. We’ve never stayed at PA parks before but if they’re all like this, then it makes it really hard to plan when some sites are fine for trailers and some aren’t even close. Just heads up. UPDATE: Called back during business hours and got the “park manager.” Could only give a partial refund for one of the two nights. I said that they weren’t clear on the condition of the sites and he said there was nothing he could do about it.

For our 1st time there, we enjoyed our time. The trails are well marked and we walked all the way around the lake. The staff are very friendly and courteous, assisting with everything we needed.

Locust Lake State Park is a campers' park. The beach is in the far end of the north campers' area with no parking. For day use, you would have to park at the park entrance and walk in. There is also separate visitor and camper boat launches. With over 280 campsites, the park is rather compact and includes separate tent and camper areas. The park includes a camp store, modern facilities, three playgrounds, boating, fishing and hiking. A bicycle path encircles the lake. There is seasonal hunting and ice skating and fishing when the ice is thick enough. For day use, nearby Tuscarora State Park can be a better choice. This state park was absolutely gorgeous! We camped with our RV there. There are no full hook ups. They do have electric but no water hook ups. The first spot we camped at signal was spotty. The 2nd spot cell signal was better. There is a “beach” you can swim at. You can walk around the lake, it’s a little over a mile. They also have a small shop.

This is a nice state park with good facilities. For young families the bike trail around the lake is enjoyable for all ages. The park store is new, clean, and nice for a state park. The prices in the store are high. The bathrooms are good for a state park, but their is no bench the shower stalls so there is nowhere to put clothes and totalities while showering.

Use to come here with my father, (R.I.P) pops, when I were younger. Recently motocamped there and woke up to a beautiful still lake, with the birds singing and the sun shining. Thank you everyone who takes care of this place. Very well maintained and an even better place for the family or a solo moto camp. Explore the outdoors, go visit locust lake state park.

Great place to take time to yourself and relax or family fun. The trails are great for marathon warm ups.

My family loves to camp here. We always have a great time camping here or even just visiting for the day. There are some nice playgrounds for the kids to play at, great walking/biking trail all around the lake. Beautiful, peaceful scenery all around. Wildlife can be seen all around, which makes the experience even more pleasant. At the lake you can do some fishing, rent a boat, enjoy swimming, and hiking. They have a little store you can get ice cream at or whatever else you may need. Get out in nature and enjoy the great outdoors, you won't regret it.
