I was in the lower loop. They had portable toilets because the toilets and showers didn't work the portapotties we're getting filled to the top and we had to use the bathrooms on the other side of the campground by the phones the toilets didn't look scrubbed and the floors didn't look cleaned on the last day of our trip we went to the bathroom me and my daughter and there's a mouse right next to the toilet I don't know if I was alive had like nesting material in its mouth now I'm freaking out we possibly contracted hantivirus hopefully nothing comes out of this but I wish the groundskeeper would let people that they have rodents in the bathrooms. it was stall 1 next to the shower stall the bathrooms were on the side the ground keeper stay

Beware of the Man eating flies. Known as Buffalo Gnats/ Black flies. They're bites are painful. I went on 5/26/25 i started at the campground and moved my way up the river. I was completely attacked the entire time. By these flies, it was comical, yet very painful. I spent most of the time swimming in the water as they did not seem to like being underwater. I recommend the spot. There's a lot of beautiful jumping spots and water holes just be aware of the flies that are around. According to what I read, Not much helps with flies other than wearing a lot of clothing and timing. The flies drop dead once temperatures are 85 and up. Good luck out there! And don't forget your water shoes!

Great place to camp, there was only 2 other campers in the park, almost no bugs, lots of wildlife, deer, rabbits, squirrels, and a bunch of different kinds of birds. We had a great time and are definitely going back.

Went here with a group looking to camp at the first come first serve sites and they turned us away saying "all campsites were full" when they absolutley weren't. The staff there acted like rude club bouncers instead of park employees. I drove about 10mins ahead of my group in a separate car, and when I got there the staff at the entrance kiosk let me in to the campground without a problem. I drove in and tried to find the camp host, couldn't find her so I scoped out the campsites since I hadn't been there before. The vast majority of the campground was empty, and all tags on first come first serve campsites said reservations ended that day. There was more than enough space for a group of 6. I then drove back to the entrance kiosk to see if the staff there could help me find the camp host, and found my friends had arrived. They had been told the campground was full. The staff at the kiosk claimed they hadn't let anyone in in the past 30 minutes - even though they had just let me in without any issues. I talked with the staff at the entrance kiosk and told them the campground is mostly empty, but they refused to let us in and continued to claim campsite was full. They refused to let me talk to the camp host or drive back in, and yelled at my friends for parking in the 15-minute visitor zone while they waited for me. After about 5 minutes of back and forth I decided to drop it -- it was clear they didn't want us there for whatever reason. Not sure what's going on here, but whatever rules the staff here claim to be following are not first-come-first-serve campground rules.

I would like to leave 0 stars but that isn't an option. Wish I'd read more reviews before driving 4 hours to come here. Would like to have at least seen this place myself, the pictures on google make it look amazing. The lady at the gate turned us away, declining my request to drive through and take a peek at the campground. I was told "I can't let you drive through. I have people everywhere. It's not possible". Sort of unbelievable. I must agree with others who wrote one-star reviews, this place just might be somewhere between a private club of some sort and a portal straight to hell. We left a found a nearby camp in Las Padres National Forest instead.

The campsite is ok, the gorge is beautiful. The no see-um bugs are brutal though and make this a good one to skip. Just got back from a weekend there, I have 80+ bites on legs and arms and the itching is brutal.

This place is absolutely stunning, and well within day-trip distance to pinnacles. The showers are basic, but warm and spacious. They have tent sites, small trailer sites, but no water or electric hookups. Bring your solar, your water, and your quarters and get ready for an awesome camping trip.

I was in site#2. Close enough but far enough to the bathrooms. Flush toilets & showers. Cleanest bathrooms I’ve ever experienced camping!! Beautiful well managed campground!! Ranger patrol regularly!!! I’ll definite back! Quiet hrs are respected or at least they were while I was there. I was there 1/17-1/19/25.

Amazing spot for camping, both the modern and primitive sites! Currently open fires permitted on both, potable water at primitive sites only. The staff is absolutely incredible and come around with firewood and water. No reception within 20 min, McDonald's and Starbucks 30 min. The water is perfect for swimming and lots of space!

The very best memory of this campsite! My family had a great time! I love this place! Friendly staff and overall safe place to camp with the family. I would definitely go back again. Beautiful place!!!!!

I loved this camping spot. Tucked away with no service and a nearly empty campground was perfect. The restrooms were the cleanest I’ve seen and the park staff was so friendly. They drove through often to check on everyone and say hi. Double sites are $60 and single sites are $30. No hookups but water spigots throughout. Coin op showers.

This campground helped us out huge while we were passing through the area. After some complications with our original reservations, we had nowhere else to go and they treated us like family, gave us a great campsite and made our stay way better than expected. Highly recommend.
