Camped this last weekend for a visit to the Willa Cather Historic sites and found Lovewell had a reservation system. We tent camped with electrical and were impressed with the facilities. I would recommend for anyone that loves to camp, fish and take in the wide open prairies of KS.

We've had a trailer in Twin Cove since 1969. I'm so happy that no matter what changes in life, everyone I come back here.... it feels the same. Better come prepared though!! Marina had essential limited supplies. Don't forget to get your park sticker on the way in at the welcome center.

I went winter camping here, it was great, the view was great, and the camping spots were in great shape. My only complaint would be that the bathrooms were a little far from the camping spots. Otherwise a great place for camping. Even in the winter.

Absolutely love this park! Undisturbed camping. Marina store, boat rentals, water activities, playgrounds restrooms showers and undisturbed campgrounds. All reasons to visit. Plus the scenery at dusk and dawn are impeccable

What a beautiful lake. Very clean. Every worker at this lake was friendly and helpful. I will definitely be planning another trip to this Lake. 5 stars for sure!

Don't llet Google maps take you any other route than Hwy 14 or you'll be on rough gravel/dirt roads for about 15 miles. The park itself is fine - unnecessarily difficult to understand check in procedures. Bathrooms were super clean but there was also almost no one there.

I would not recommend staying at this park or any nearby park for that matter due to the game and park rangers are there to issue tickets to generate revenue, not to educate people on the rules. The lake level was higher than normal and I've included pictures below of the swim beach that was flooded up to the parking lot. The sign for the swim beach was under water at lease 4-5 feet and you couldn't even tell where the beach started or ended. We've never been to this lake and ended up pulling our boat to shore in this area on a Monday with no one else around (there were two other boats on the lake) to pick up our small kids and family to go for a ride. The park ranger stopped us and said that it was a restricted area and issued a citation. I'm okay with being issued a citation and paying a fine, but for parking your boat in a restricted area, this is also a misdemeanor that goes on your record. Most park rangers would give a warning and let you go, not here, they want that revenue, not to educate people on the rules. She instructed us to move the boat 30' over on the other side of some trees and we would be fine. This citation is a mandatory appear in court and I didn't want to drive 8 hours a month ago so on the plus side they were able to see me the next day in court. There were six other people in court and 3 of them were there for minor boat infractions and all got the same fine and misdemeanor on their record as I did. Be careful if you go to this lake, there is no room for error. For us and our family, we will not be coming back to this lake or Kansas for vacation again.
