Madison Campground is a great place to set up camp for a week at Yellowstone. Very clean, Heated bathrooms with flush toilets, a fully stocked camp store centrally located are great. There is also a 4 bay dump station on site. The campground itself is essentially in the middle of the 2 loops of the park, so all areas can be reached after a short drive. Since we came in from the west, it was also convenient for us entering and exiting the park.

We used Madison Campground as our base camp for 5 days. It was great, the park staff was amazing. Only complaint was the LOUD family that had kids running and screaming all night long, until about 3am then again at 6am. The early time was no problem since we are up in the park early but would have been nice to not have such inconsiderate neighbors. Not the park’s fault.

This campground is very busy. Campsites are very close to each-other but overall it wasn’t super loud. Bear box firewood and ring available. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were close by and clean and had dishwashing station. Wish the lights were motion-censored at bathrooms or dimmer to help with the stargazing bc the skies were so beautiful.

Great campsite. Easy access to park areas, while being able to hop into town if needed. No cell service but we just drove 5 miles toward west Yellowstone at the bridge to connect. Right there is where the elk hang out and occasional bison, or bear, so always got wildlife fix in evenings. Campsite is clean, everyone is friendly and shocked at how quiet it is all the time. People are quite respectful. And of course, easy access to river for fly fishing.

Loved this campground! Check-in was pretty easy. The campground was so pretty. There is access to the lake. We were able to take some nice photos here and even spot an elk. Many accessible bathrooms that were clean and had toilet paper. The campground is surrounded by pines so it feels very cozy. The store was clutch for last minute things. Recommend!

Truly beautiful mountain scenery. Fantastic $ value and great service from the National Park Staff. No hot water for washing dishes or showers but only due to Covid. A stunning place to stay. Great pitch for my tent 1 minute walk from the river. Thank you.

Stayed over holiday weekend for 1-night. We were in one of the tent only spots that was furthest away from the bathrooms. Approximately a 50 yard walk so not too bad. Each spot has lots of room so you don't feel like you're rubbing shoulders with neighbors. Spots have smaller picnic bench, fire pit, and large bear box (we were able to put our portable bbq and cooler inside).

Staying here was a pleasant experience. There's a warm room with a sink for doing dishes, the bathrooms are heated and well maintained. The market is cute and had some essentials, but don't rely on it for groceries! It's just the right distance from the big park attractions to be a great home base, with short drives to lots of interesting things to see and do.

Overall enjoyed our week camping at Madison! As others have shared, there is road noise and decent traffic at this whole junction especially towards evening as people are exiting to the west entrance. It is a large campground with frequent turnover/traffic. Despite this, we were surprised with how quiet it was overall. We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly and the bathrooms were cleaned frequently.

Well run campground with easy access to most of the park’s main attractions
