The yurt as was great. Very cozy and everything worked. The place is set up for a romantic or solo trip. Kind of close to the freeway which is a bit distracting from the white noise. But also right next to the ocean. Good for 1 or two people. Lots of no pets signs which is great if you have allergies. In general the other guest were pleasant and easy going, no one was rushed and trying to everything they could on a once in a lifetime trip. I went solo for a dive trip but will try the larger accommodations with the family or maybe just rent an rv. I highly recommend the clean pleasant getaway they provide. With more time and a few loved ones it would be nice sitting outside and enjoying the fire. This isn’t back packing it is low stress glamping. Sometimes that’s all we need to recharge.

Beautiful quiet campground! The whole place was immaculate and well maintained. The amenities were wonderful… loved the playground, dog park and easy access to the beach dunes! Our family and dog had the best time! Also loved being among all the cypress trees… it was magical! The staff were also very attentive, helpful and kind!
Only negative is the highway noise, but that goes hand in hand with the convenience of the campground being an easy stopping point on your journeys!

Extremely clean, nice laundry facilities, nice dog area, cute cabins. I loved the fact that it was across from a dog leash beach. There was definitely road noise… but location annd cleanliness outweighs anny negatives. This was an elevated thousandtrails Rv park. We had a premium site that was spacious and level for our 27 ft Rv. Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed in the Yurts, which were very comfortable. We arrived very late, which the resort staff were able to accommodate us. Everyone we met there were very friendly and helpful.
Outside is a parking spot, picnic table, fixed ice chest, a fire pit and 2 adarondack chairs.
The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, the bedding and bath towels are provided. With a table and chairs, a dresser, 2 beside tables with lamps where you can charge your phones and a little heater. Even with our luggage, we were comfortable with plenty of room to move around. We wanted our coffee when we wake up early & since there is power in the yurt, we brought an electric kettle and French press.
All of the common areas: the bathroom & shower, community center, and the children's play area were all very clean. The little Bodega in the office had enough items to choose from so that we didn't need to leave the park if we didn't want to.
However, the park is close to town for provisions. It's right next to the Marina Nature Preserve and down the road from Marina State Park.
It's also only about a half an hour away from Monterey on one side and Santa Cruz on the other. We went to the Monterey Aquarium with family one day and on our way to the airport, we stopped at the boardwalk in Santa Cruz. Being centrally located made these stops very easy to pull off in a short amount of time.
Can't wait for our next stay.

My wife, me and my kids stay at Marina dunes all the time. The facility is absolutely wonderful that people are great. It is in a perfect spot when you come to Monterey to camp and explore and anybody that comes here and leaves any kind of a bad review needs to stay home lock their doors and do not come out of their house.

One of the best parks that is available to Thousand Trails members. Great location and nice spots. Yes the highway can be loud but it is not that bad and if you are here more that a couple of days it fades into background noise.

Very nice hosts.  Calm location internally. Most people driving slowly. There is significant highway noise, of course, but you come for the beach and Monterey.

Nice mix of trees.  Walking path directly to beach.  Can get packages delivered directly to your site (WHICH IS GREATLY APPRECIATED).  They take extra care to make sure gravel is blown off the road and even rake the gravel parking spaces after vehicles leave to give a fresh and clean impression.  NEVER seen that before.  An extra touch of care.  Certainly not taking the lazy approach.

The sand at the beach is very coarse, which means it doesn't pack down, even when wet.  Always a soft step and unrideable by fat tire bikes. Bike path not too far on other side of highway alongside a road heading north-south.

Beautiful Yurt Stay with Great Location 🌊

Our family spent a week in Big Sur staying in cabins, but there was virtually no cell phone reception, which made it impossible for me to work. Since I had to work three days of the week, we chose to stay at Marina Dunes RV Park in a yurt — and it was even nicer than expected!

The yurt was very clean and comfortable, and the bed was great — we slept so well. Staff were friendly, check-in was easy, and the bathrooms (a short walk away) were cleaned daily and well-maintained.

Even though it’s close to the Pacific Coast Highway (Highway 1), it was surprisingly quiet. The location is perfect for exploring Monterey, Carmel, and Big Sur. There’s a beautiful trail over the dunes that takes you right to the ocean, and just down the street is a state beach entrance and parking lot — we even rode our bikes there! 🚴‍♀️ The drive from here to Big Sur is absolutely breathtaking and so worth it.

Cell reception was excellent for T-Mobile (four bars most of the time), and if you need full 5G, just head up the street to Walmart.

We loved it so much we booked another two-week stay later this year, and this time we’ll be bringing our RV. Highly recommend!

Clean, cozy, and a short walk to the beach! Stayed one night in a yurt: comfortable bed, linens and towels provided, plus fire pit, picnic table, and chairs. Restrooms and showers were great. My parents stayed in one of the RV sites, which were spacious, well-kept, and perfect for relaxing. The tiny homes on-site were also adorable. Quick drive to Monterey and plenty of stores/restaurants in Marina. Park store closes early, so plan ahead. Highly recommend for RV stays or a relaxing seaside getaway!

Graded flat spots. Fenced area with a picnic table. We had a 50amp spot, full hookups. Great customer service. Easy to park wide roads. Near the beach, and had great bike paths.

This is one of the best managed RV parks out there. Michael, the park manager, and the rest of the staff were always so kind and accommodating. We had some issues with our reservation and Michael took care of it directly. They had a fun scavenger hunt for the kids (which they loved). The campsites are super clean and modern. Great 50amp service, decent water pressure, our sewer connection needed to be repaired but still worked fine.

The freeway noise is for sure a bummer at this campground. But it’s well made up for with the incredible walk to the dunes and the beaches. Also very easy access to Monterey and Pacific Grove.

Staff was amazing. Nice level spots. But unfortunately had one bad experience. People across from us had a dog that attacked ours. They didn't say anything. Didn't even come by to see if he was okay. He had two puncture wounds on his foot.

We stayed 6 days, this place is really nice. People come their annually, also a lot of one night stands. Bathrooms are secure neat and clean. Rv spots are nice and big so it's easy to get those big rigs in and parked. Easy stroll to a beach access. Only negative is the traffic noise from freeway.

Great facilities and easy check in. Only minor changes would be to create some barrier from the hotel parking lot. We backed up next to the hotel parking and there was lots of vehicle and foot traffic. I saw some tress planted and growing but it'll be a while to get a true sense privacy from the lot. Otherwise the family can't wait to go back

Super cute place to go camping. I love the tiny tents. Very peaceful place and really great weather. A nice getaway. If you are in the area be sure to visit this place. Super close to the beach too!

Super swanky! For my first RV experience, I wanted to try something a little more modern and mainstream, and I absolutely loved it! My friends and I spent a lot of time at Pebble beach which wasn't too far away and an almost equal amount of time at the clubhouse and barbecue area at the campground. The facilities were amazing and well-kept; there were patios on each full hookup site which was nice because most people seem to prefer to stay on site at night and we met some great people while barbecuing. There was wifi, which was a deal-breaker for most of us and it certainly didn't feel like we were camping, yet there was so much gorgeous natural landscape to enjoy. A few members of our group did spend a night at one of the individual campsites in a tent, and they only had great things to say. It can get a pinch chilly every now and again at night, but nothing too crazy. We spent a lot of time at the beach and at the site, which I low-key regret because apparently there were a lot of other activities around the site. Next time, we'll be kayaking, hiking and lots of wine tasting. Yes, we'll definitely be back! - Review provided by RV Park Recommendations & Reviews Facebook Group
