Awesome state forest and campground. Not too busy and two lakes to fish from.

Gorgeous isn't the right words. More like breath taking. Went night fishing and for it being a holiday weekend it was so empty and peaceful. The sounds and echos of the owls were amazing.

Decent not a bad spot saw a few trails while out here but mainly wanted to climb the fire tower that was in this area. Awesome views of your brave enough to do it

My husband and I chose Martin State Forest to hike in the autumn of 2023. We hiked the Hardwood Lake Trail and the Martin Lake Trail. Both trails provided stunning lake views and perfect autumn color! We will be returning in the spring to hike the Tank Springs trail!

Fishing in the lakes was ok,Not a lot of picnic tables. There are two shelter houses. The campground is primitive with pit toilets. The campground is in the woods with large camp sites with picnic tables and fire Ring Just a few hiking trails and bikes trail . I'm not a hunter, but I think this would be a great area to hunt in from the wildlife I've seen

The fire tower is definitely the highlight of this place. While maybe slightly sketchier than some fire towers I've climbed, it felt solid structurally and offered a great view above the tree line once you got to the top (something that isn't true of all fire towers like the ones at Brown County and McCormick's Creek state parks). Don't come here for the mountain bike trails. They appeared to be just old fire roads and were overgrown and didn't look like anyone was maintaining them anymore. The campground was alright (about what you would expect for state forest primitive campgrounds), although the bugs were pretty bad when I came. Overall, if you need a place to camp for the night and all state parks are full, it could be worth the stay (I was one of only three campers total in the entire campground on a Friday night), but this will probably be a place I check off my list and won't be coming back to with some many other neat places to explore.

Pretty park, not recommended for hiking (trails haven't been maintained & tend to be either blocked or overgrown with poison ivy).

Absolutely beautiful State Park Recreational area. Nothing more beautiful, than the leaves of all the the various trees changing color in Southern Indiana. Also has extremely affordable and large shelter house rentals for only twenty-five dollars a day.

This is an amazing park to have gatherings in. There is a fee with the shelter houses but that helps pay for upkeep and renovations. Family friendly environment in a beautiful county setting.

Clean, and well-maintained for the most part. Lots of activities and areas to explore, whether in the car, on a bike or on foot. Be aware that the water at the campground is rarely turned on and watch for broken glass at the fire tower.
