McKinley's RV Park & Marina
Overview
McKinley's RV Park & Marina offers a unique waterfront experience on the stunning Alsea Bay. As a well-established destination in Waldport, Oregon, it caters to those who appreciate the intersection of river life and the Pacific coast. The park is characterized by its prime bayfront location, providing guests with immediate access to some of the best crabbing and fishing in the Pacific Northwest. It serves as a comfortable gateway to the natural beauty of the central Oregon coastline.
Location & Surroundings
Situated directly on the north edge of the Alsea River, the park enjoys a peaceful setting away from the heavy traffic of Highway 101. The surrounding landscape is defined by tidal flats, coastal forests, and the iconic Alsea Bay Bridge. Visitors can watch the tides change from their sites, often spotting seals or various coastal birds navigating the brackish waters just steps away from their RV door, creating a deep connection with the local ecosystem.
Amenities & Park Features
The facility is designed with convenience in mind, offering full hookup sites that accommodate various RV sizes. One of the standout features is the on-site private marina and boat launch, making it effortless for boaters to get on the water. Other essential comforts include clean restroom and shower facilities, laundry services, and a small shop stocked with crabbing gear and bait to ensure you are ready for a successful day of harvesting on the bay.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Beyond the park, the town of Waldport offers charming local shops and quiet beaches like Governor Patterson Memorial State Recreation Site. A short drive north leads to the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport, while heading south brings you to the dramatic views at Cape Perpetua. Many guests spend their days crabbing for Dungeness right from the docks or exploring the scenic hiking trails that wind through the Siuslaw National Forest nearby.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is an ideal match for avid anglers and boaters who want a home base that facilitates easy water access. It also suits travelers seeking a quieter, more authentic Oregon coast experience compared to the busier resort towns further north. If you enjoy the rhythmic nature of a working marina and prefer a coastal stay focused on outdoor recreation and natural scenery, McKinley's provides the perfect backdrop for your adventure.

We stayed on the river side and we loved our stay and we didn’t have neighbors for long periods of time which we loved, nice big spaces and clean and the office/store staff are so nice.. we just had to move to higher rates for summer.. this is a great place..

The park is located on Alesa Bay Waldport OR on the edge of town. Close to grocery store and hardware store. The service was good and the park was clean and well maintained. I stayed on the waterfront sites with full hookups and everything worked fine with a brand new picnic table. The campground store was clean and staff was friendly and informative. My small dog was welcomed as long as she was on a leash. The marina had small crab boats available for rent for $120 for 3 hour crabbing in the bay. I did well catching the limit one day and nothing the second day. They will cook the crabs for you after you clean them at a nice station available on the dock. There was only one coin operated shower on the property.

Beautiful park! The staff are super friendly. Everything is kept clean and working. They have laundry, small store, bathrooms with pay showers, and a boat ramp. Plus, it's a great deal if you want to catch crab. We stayed in the RV section with full hookups and plenty of room for our 38 ft rig. Our kids stayed in the dry camping area. They had a fire ring and picnic table right on the river. We all had a wonderful time!!

The website is slow and full of design glitches that make your booking difficult. The phone number was either turned off or not picked up. The front desk lady behaves as you owned her something. Coins to shower and laundry. No dump station. They asked $5 for filling up a bit of water from a site. The camp host was nice and friendly. Crabbing boat is $120 per trip, the same as the one offered by the marina in town. I will not come back here again for this place.

What a wonderful experience! From the time we arrived, we felt welcomed and gained a sense of community as first timers. We camped among all walks of life and had the chance to really soak it in. The facilities were extremely well maintained! Crabbing was amazing, as were all the activities available. Really enjoyed the staff. Shout out to Randy for making time for our kids and always going above and beyond! Thank you McKinley's! See you soon
