Not the best stay. We have a dog so they made us stay closest to the interstate with a long walk to the bathrooms bc that's where they put their dog walk, even though there were many open spots away from all the noise. You will hear trucks & trains all night long. Even having my white noise turned all the way up, I still heard the noise. They gave us paperwork which states there's a clubhouse code. Except there is no way to use a code. We went wandering around at night trying our best to find a way in but there's no keypad or anything at any of the 3 doors to the clubhouse. When I asked about this the next morning, the woman at the desk says, it's only open from 9-5. So I say, then if you lock it & unlock it, why is there a code listed? The extremely rude woman then says she has a call & cannot continue this conversation. Although they do have nice bathrooms & showers, it's not cheap at $63/night. For us, it wasn't a good stay for the money.

READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING!! The good: 1) The park is nicely kept. There were no weeds in the spots and the landscaping was nice. 2) The price is fair Unfortunately, that’s about it. The bad: 1) The staff was not helpful at all. Their biggest priority is watching everybody walk their dogs and yelling at them if the dog stops to pee in route to or from the dog area. Seriously there is some weird dude (employee) that just walks around and stares at you. 2) The website claims they are “dog friendly “but our experience was that they are more “dog tolerant “. You don’t get to see their pet policy until after you have given them your money (which they charge $25 per day if you cancel) and then you’re given a short anti-dog dossier stating that dogs are not allowed to poop OR PEE ANYWHERE on the property except for the designated dog run area, which is on the far north east corner of the property. Unfortunately, my dogs do not read at a high school level so they were not clear on the instructions when we showed them the dossier. 3) When we noticed their anti-dog policies and the location of our site we asked if we could be moved to a closer spot which we were informed “unfortunately no, we are booked up”. That’s all fine and good except that during the next four days, the park never reached more than about 35% capacity and there were dozens of spots available that were within about 200 feet of the dog area. Unfortunately, for us, we were parked on the far other side, so we had a several hundred yard walk Just to let our dogs relieve themselves. 4) The website it says that pet bags are provided in the dog areas. Unfortunately, that is absolutely not true. We never saw a single bag and reading the reviews on Google shows that nobody has apparently ever seen a bag in those areas, either. 5) This RV park is unofficially marketed as an astronomy lovers dream site with phenomenal low light conditions for people to use their telescopes at night and while they do not have any overhead lights on the property, they do have insanely bright lamps about 3 feet off the ground that flood the entire area with bright white light completely washing out the dark skies that are above you. 5) They give you a code for the main gate, which is only a 12 foot gate FYI so make sure that you’re paying attention when you pull through it. What they don’t tell you is that they close off access to that gate when the gas station closed. They do, however, have gates on the side of the property, but what they don’t do a good job of explaining is that those gates get closed and one of them is locked while the other is dummy locked, so you have to manually go and open the gates to get in and out. However, we found that several people thought that they had been locked out of the park overnight and it was only dumb luck that we were able to help them get in before they drove all the way to Flagstaff and rented a hotel for the night. On top of that the road to get to those gates is NOT MAINTAINED AT ALL! There is no gravel on the road and there are MASSIVE potholes. 6) The dump stations are terribly designed. From the level that your camper sits on to the top of the dump station pipes is about 10 inches. They are NOT at ground level and it makes dumping tanks a mess. They are also at the end of each site rather than the middle so make sure you have extra hoses. We ended up cutting our stay a day short and we will not be staying there again.

It’s actually a nice RV park itself. We wouldn’t stay here again though. We also left a day early. They have some weird rules. They’re not a huge fan of dogs. Apparently you have to be able to control where your dog pees. Which is really difficult to do. They’re only allowed to go in a specific pet area. When we first arrived, I let our dog out and was walking him on his leash and we had only been there five minutes and someone told us that our dog couldn’t pee on the dirt. The staff was not super accommodating when we asked to be moved closer to the pet area. At night, they have lights up all over the place, even though it’s advertised as a stargazing area. Also, all of the gates are locked up at night, which can be fairly deceiving. And difficult to get in and out. But also good for security. The exit road is not maintained at all, it’s all dirt and lots of potholes. Their dump station at each site is also poorly designed. They are way high above the ground.

Nice clean park. Friendly staff. Free coffee. However, convince store prices are gouging. ie. $6+ for a small microwavable burrito or breakfast sandwich. Bathrooms are older, needing a serious remodel. 1 shower semi-handicap accessible 5.5 miles from Meteor Crater. 20 miles from center of Winslow.

Easy in/out, super friendly staff, a small store with lots of things and a laundry room that's very clean. A TV room with a few books, a new cantina, level lots with plenty of space. Weather permitting, they have a group campfire. They have a dog lot for those traveling pet friendly.
