Beautiful location with wide, spacious RV spots—definitely a highlight of the stay. That said, I’m giving 2 stars due to strict pet policies and customer interactions were handled by Amanda. Upon check-in their computers were slow so I was not given my paperwork with a re-entry code, which left me unable to leave and return, to use the showers or other facilities I was paying for. I went to the office the next morning to get WiFi and gate codes. I mentioned to a woman (Amanda) who appeared to be in management that the dog waste bag stations were not stocked—but that it wasn’t a big deal since I always carry my own. As I was leaving, she then hollered at me from across the road that my dog could only relieve herself in designated areas- as my dog is mid-stream on the gravel road. The interaction felt unnecessary and unprofessional, especially after I had just tried to politely point something out. While I later learned this is their policy, it wasn’t clearly communicated at check-in, and it’s also a very restrictive expectation in a large RV park. Dog pee on a gravel road cannot be picked up and there is no “grass” to destroy as this lady believed. To add to the frustration, there’s a $5 per day per dog fee, yet the bag stations weren’t stocked as stated. The website is difficult to navigate as well, with most links directing you to call instead of providing clear information upfront. The bathrooms are dark and dingy. Just feels very old. This place has a lot of potential and is in a beautiful setting, but clearer communication, better attention to amenities, and more respectful customer service would make a big difference.

We stayed at Meteor Crater RV Park for 2 weeks. Surprised at how many activities we found to keep ourselves busy in the area including a day trip to Grand Canyon. The location was a good base camp. Most folks seemed to use the location as an overnight stop. There were only a handful of us that did an extended stay. The park has very easy access in/out as well as easy to maneuver inside the grounds. The comments regarding the main gate being narrow is true but NOT a negative, NOT anything to worry about. Plenty of large rigs coming and going during our stay with zero issues. If you have to use the after hours gate, on the dirt road, no worries there either. You only have to travel about 100 yards on the dirt road and during our stay it was NOT riddled with pot holes. Anyone should be able to slow roll 100 yards and have no issue. While many sites are relatively level, the entire property is on a very slight slope making the majority of sites slightly off-level side to side. Nothing leveler blocks cannot account for in most sites. We were in site 47 and chose to place 4" boards under passenger side tires of 5th wheel. Easy enough! We had 2 negative take-aways of this park. First, the restrooms were not clean nor in good repair during our stay. Second, they are dog tolerant but not necessarily dog friendly. Granted we had NO issue with our dog during our 2 weeks there. No one said a negative thing to us. But seeing no poo or pee signs everywhere made us concerned every time we walked her. Overall it is a good park and we would stay again. Note, price listed includes all fees and taxes.

A great place. Lots of nice rv park features...2 large dog walks, lounge, showers, theatre, small store and gas station. Probably more. Came here to see the meteor crater. It did not disappoint, either. The rv park is well maintained and clean with very friendly and helpful staff. So why 4 stars? Simply noise from the freeway, but don't let that dissuade you from staying here. Trains run at a distance, too, but they are infrequent.

We made it here a bit late at night. It took a minute to find the after hours entrance (just a little further down the road from the main entrance), but overall this place was great! The stars were crazy visible. It was easy to get hooked up to electric (this is all we needed to use). Bathrooms and showers were clean and felt safe. It was the first time we had stayed at an RV park (rented an RV for a trip), and it was an easy and positive experience! Thank you for having the late arrival option, we appreciated having a good place to rest 💜

Friendly staff, very clean shower house, nice and quiet, super convenient to Meteor Crater. Beautiful views and stars at night. It’s a naturally windy area - we had sustained winds of 40 mph, and we were told this is normal for the area.

Not the best stay. We have a dog so they made us stay closest to the interstate with a long walk to the bathrooms bc that's where they put their dog walk, even though there were many open spots away from all the noise. You will hear trucks & trains all night long. Even having my white noise turned all the way up, I still heard the noise. They gave us paperwork which states there's a clubhouse code. Except there is no way to use a code. We went wandering around at night trying our best to find a way in but there's no keypad or anything at any of the 3 doors to the clubhouse. When I asked about this the next morning, the woman at the desk says, it's only open from 9-5. So I say, then if you lock it & unlock it, why is there a code listed? The extremely rude woman then says she has a call & cannot continue this conversation. Although they do have nice bathrooms & showers, it's not cheap at $63/night. For us, it wasn't a good stay for the money.

READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING!! The good: 1) The park is nicely kept. There were no weeds in the spots and the landscaping was nice. 2) The price is fair Unfortunately, that’s about it. The bad: 1) The staff was not helpful at all. Their biggest priority is watching everybody walk their dogs and yelling at them if the dog stops to pee in route to or from the dog area. Seriously there is some weird dude (employee) that just walks around and stares at you. 2) The website claims they are “dog friendly “but our experience was that they are more “dog tolerant “. You don’t get to see their pet policy until after you have given them your money (which they charge $25 per day if you cancel) and then you’re given a short anti-dog dossier stating that dogs are not allowed to poop OR PEE ANYWHERE on the property except for the designated dog run area, which is on the far north east corner of the property. Unfortunately, my dogs do not read at a high school level so they were not clear on the instructions when we showed them the dossier. 3) When we noticed their anti-dog policies and the location of our site we asked if we could be moved to a closer spot which we were informed “unfortunately no, we are booked up”. That’s all fine and good except that during the next four days, the park never reached more than about 35% capacity and there were dozens of spots available that were within about 200 feet of the dog area. Unfortunately, for us, we were parked on the far other side, so we had a several hundred yard walk Just to let our dogs relieve themselves. 4) The website it says that pet bags are provided in the dog areas. Unfortunately, that is absolutely not true. We never saw a single bag and reading the reviews on Google shows that nobody has apparently ever seen a bag in those areas, either. 5) This RV park is unofficially marketed as an astronomy lovers dream site with phenomenal low light conditions for people to use their telescopes at night and while they do not have any overhead lights on the property, they do have insanely bright lamps about 3 feet off the ground that flood the entire area with bright white light completely washing out the dark skies that are above you. 5) They give you a code for the main gate, which is only a 12 foot gate FYI so make sure that you’re paying attention when you pull through it. What they don’t tell you is that they close off access to that gate when the gas station closed. They do, however, have gates on the side of the property, but what they don’t do a good job of explaining is that those gates get closed and one of them is locked while the other is dummy locked, so you have to manually go and open the gates to get in and out. However, we found that several people thought that they had been locked out of the park overnight and it was only dumb luck that we were able to help them get in before they drove all the way to Flagstaff and rented a hotel for the night. On top of that the road to get to those gates is NOT MAINTAINED AT ALL! There is no gravel on the road and there are MASSIVE potholes. 6) The dump stations are terribly designed. From the level that your camper sits on to the top of the dump station pipes is about 10 inches. They are NOT at ground level and it makes dumping tanks a mess. They are also at the end of each site rather than the middle so make sure you have extra hoses. We ended up cutting our stay a day short and we will not be staying there again.

It’s actually a nice RV park itself. We wouldn’t stay here again though. We also left a day early. They have some weird rules. They’re not a huge fan of dogs. Apparently you have to be able to control where your dog pees. Which is really difficult to do. They’re only allowed to go in a specific pet area. When we first arrived, I let our dog out and was walking him on his leash and we had only been there five minutes and someone told us that our dog couldn’t pee on the dirt. The staff was not super accommodating when we asked to be moved closer to the pet area. At night, they have lights up all over the place, even though it’s advertised as a stargazing area. Also, all of the gates are locked up at night, which can be fairly deceiving. And difficult to get in and out. But also good for security. The exit road is not maintained at all, it’s all dirt and lots of potholes. Their dump station at each site is also poorly designed. They are way high above the ground.

Nice clean park. Friendly staff. Free coffee. However, convince store prices are gouging. ie. $6+ for a small microwavable burrito or breakfast sandwich. Bathrooms are older, needing a serious remodel. 1 shower semi-handicap accessible 5.5 miles from Meteor Crater. 20 miles from center of Winslow.

Easy in/out, super friendly staff, a small store with lots of things and a laundry room that's very clean. A TV room with a few books, a new cantina, level lots with plenty of space. Weather permitting, they have a group campfire. They have a dog lot for those traveling pet friendly.

Rv spaces r large & separated by a large picnic area on both sides. 2 club houses with tons of amenities, gas station & store. Very clean, but not enough soap in bathrooms. Staff: Tyler was so infuriating that I had to walk out. Met a neighbor after getting to spot and she had problems with staff also. Another downfall is that it’s super close to the fwy & the train blows its whistle all night long! It’s loud here even with ear plugs. Google maps says it’s farther down on the left, but it’s close to fwy on the right. Also a bit too pricy. Should get a discount when they cut trees! Loud beeping all day long!

Very easy access from I-40! Super clean, quiet sites. Safe, secure stop. The only negative was that they are very particular about dogs, but the dog park had no poop bags in the dispensers!

Made a quick overnight stop on our way from Southern California to South Carolina. After hours entrance was marked well with signage and clear instructions were in a box with our site (clear and easy instructions for self check-in). Fenced in dog area was perfect so we could let our dog stretch her legs a bit. Biggest 5 star point from us is that the pull through site was long enough to accommodate our RV towing our jeep on a trailer (about 58ft in length total)-not having to disconnect for a quick overnight is a huge bonus to us!! Sites were super clean and hook-ups were good. Water pressure was a little low...but worked just fine.

Not a good place for laundry. Most sites are super far away. It is coin operated and overpriced. $3 for a wash and $3 for a dry is excessive. There’s no coin machine or ATM. They also won’t charge your card in exchange for quarters, so if you don’t have cash you’re shit out of luck. After TWO dryer cycles my clothes were still damp but we had to leave. Also the laundry room closes at 4:30 so if you get in later plan on doing laundry in the am or not at all. Location is fine if you want to see the crater (don’t recommend, not worth the price of admission). The sites themselves are clean and nice. If you need the bathroom or laundry ask for a site in the front, otherwise plan for a bit of a walk.

Just off the freeway (I40) ... Very nice gravel sites. A little tight but level and easy pull-through. Lots of trees. One entry/exit and sign in at the gas station with convenience store next to the entry. Park in the large parking area next to the entrance to check in so as not to block the entrance. Very convenient to get into Meteor Crater only 5 miles down the road. They also give you a discount for the entrance fee when staying at the RV park. Also only about 20 miles from Winslow if you want to go "stand on the corner" etc.
