Staff (one person we momentarily met upon our departure) was rude and VERY unhelpful. We saw no one when we checked in. We tried to contact MWR / camp host several times the following morning, to no avail. We were two coaches and had medical issues arise. Because of this we had to leave one coach and was 20 min late leaving with the second coach. The lady finally dropped by at checkout only to admonish us about the 20 min overstay and to make sure we knew we would be charged the extra night for the first coach we had to leave behind which we were already prepared to do. We were already sick and then had to deal with a very rude service person. Customer service person would do well to take lessons on how to treat customers. Rules state not to be rude to customer service personal. Should this rule not be reciprocal?

1. Park Quality - The park needs some TLC. Lots of debris, weeds, and goat head thorns everywhere in the park. The laundry room is clean and there are plentiful washers and dryers. I did not use the restrooms or showers. 2. Sites - All sites are concrete pads that are fairly level. Good sized sites with lots of room for outdoor setups. Utilities were good with the exception of extremely hard water. 3. Location - Near Sierra Vista and a short drive to Tombstone. The park is kind of remote and takes about 15 minutes or more to get off Post. 4. Noise - Because of the remoteness of the park it is extremely quiet. 5. Cell Service - Verizon was three bars of 5G 6. Wifi - Park WiFi was 73 Mbps down and 16 Mbps up. Starlink was 206 Mbps down and 16 Mbps up. 7. Rates - $35 a day 8. Access - You need to be qualified to access a military installation 9. Dog Friendliness - I say this place is not dog friendly because of the goat head thorns. They were bad all around the park. There is a dog pen at the park and it’s really pathetic. About a mile away is a really nice dog park that has nice grass and is well cared for. Wrapping it up. Many may find this park a good place to spend some time but for me and my dog, we won’t be back..

My first stay at an Army RV park, most of our stays have been at Air Force RV Family Campgrounds. This place was really nice, weather was great for November, the Camp grounds were small but it had everything with full hook ups, showers, laundry machines. Amanda was great in getting us set up for our weekend stay. You are less than a 5 minutes to drive to the PX and Commissary on base, there are three express PX, one located near the main PX, the other two 24 hr on each gate with fuel express and Marathon station at one.

Nice, quiet RV park with beautiful views and close to Tombstone. Also, the Buffalo Soldier museum is on base.

I hesitate to give the FamCamp a 2-star rating. The Campground itself is quite nice (albeit a bit weedy). The Staff is friendly and helpful. The laundry room is well equipped and fairly priced. The Shower/Restrooms are nice.. and clean. My reason for the rating is the ridiculous rule in place that limits your stay to 90 days, and then you must leave for 30 days before you can return! @@@ I'm a Disabled Vet with severe PTSD, and live in my RV full-time. Packing up and moving is very Stressful for someone like myself.. So it's not something that I like doing more often than necessary. ### For the past three years, I have stayed at Gila Bend AFB FamCamp for six months at a time, Oct-Apr., which is great. >>> I was hoping for a six-month stay here, and then return to Gila Bend... but NO; the "rules" in place prohibit that. The Irony is that the Campground is at about a 15% capacity.. there's a whole lot of empty spaces. I could understand the 90-day stay limit if the place was full, and people were chomping at the bit to get in. Seriously MWR.. you'd rather minimize Revenue and loose loyal Campers ?? You could at least have flexibility based on utilization.. which right now, is dismal.

This is a great RV Park. Perfect location at Fort Huachuca. With great views, prices and service. They also offer stationary campers “Cozy Campers” if you don’t have an RV. Just make a reservation and you have a place to stay with all the amenities included. Highly recommended.

Bad sticker and weed problem. The camp itself is great. Quiet, clean and nice cement pads.

We only stayed overnight. There were several open sites. The price seems a little on the higher side for the area and military base. It was a nice, quiet campground

One of the nicest we have experienced located at foothills and small # of sites. We hope to return. They always had vacancies while we were there, but seemed to act like they were full all the time when we extended so I think their reservation systems is not the best tool. It was cold when we were there. Great laundry. Women showers were good but water never got hot just warm. I heard the men’s restroom was not that clean because some guests were filthy and left messes. They require reservations and to call but the office is closed weekends and holidays so that is limiting spontaneous plans. Sites were level with picnic table and hookups. The sand burs got into our dogs feet and as with many cg roads here the roads to walk dogs are not smooth and rocky. There is a nice sidewalk down middle of cg but the lights are way too bright at night IMHO. Coyotes, javalinas and deer around and in sites. Dog park is one of the smallest I have seen. Good resupply of poop bags and waste cans. The Heritage Park is closed. Centrally located to so many things to do. Nothing noteworthy about base services. Had a fighter overhead a few mornings. Bugle calls about 3 or 4 times a day were barely noticeable. We have a truck camper but saw plenty of big rigs with no issues we saw. Amanda and George in office were good to work with and accommodated our requests. Didn’t see camp host at all but others said he was helpful when office closed. Suggestions for improvement are: reservation system upgrades, warmer water temp.

Very nice RV Park. Lots of wild animal late night activity ie: Javalina, Coyotes and Deer! The javalina will hang out under your Travel Trailer and spook your Wife & Pets! :-)
