Military Park Del Mar Beach Cottages & Campsites (MCB Camp Pendleton)

Love this place! Only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because of the marines showing up for pt at 0615 making a bunch of noise unloading a trailer and shouting profane language right outside the window scaring and awaking my 5 year old daughter. Then they proceeded to hang out on our patio furniture talking and making more noise for a couple hours. The place doesn't need air conditioning, but that would alleviate the need to leave the windows open all night and maybe we don't get woke up early while on vacation. Everything else was amazing!

The beach here is beautiful! We were there for the 4th to see the fire works and it was an amazing family event. It was a great spot to see the fireworks! My favorite part was the sunset! UPDATE THIS WAS NOT MEANT FOR THE RESORT HOTEL IT WAS MEANT FOR THE BEACH!

I did not check out much here. I just went to have a good time with my people. The beach is very clean and nice. We played Soccer, Football, handball and surfing while the grill was going. Great experience

I originally had a reservation for the Del Mar Beach RV Park and wanted to cancel it. There were no clear instructions on how to cancel a reservation so I decided to call the front office. I was told to call another number with an extension. It took me 5 days, 4 phone calls, and an email to finally get a response. Once someone finally picked up the phone, I was asked for my confirmation number and the lady said “hold on one second I need to go” and was put on hold. Then when I’m off hold, she asks if I’m still there in a manner as if it’s my fault. It should not have taken that long to cancel my reservation.

Camping is located directly on the beach with picnic tables and fire rings. The sites are close together but if possible they try to separate occupied sites.

Del Mar Beach & Marina is a stunning coastal getaway that offers a perfect blend of relaxation and outdoor adventure. I love the expansive, sandy shoreline that provides a picturesque setting for a peaceful stroll or a day of sunbathing with the sound of the Pacific in the background. The marina side is equally impressive, offering easy access to the water for kayaking, paddleboarding, or simply enjoying the view of the boats docked in the harbor. It is a fantastic destination where the well-maintained facilities and the refreshing ocean breeze create an inviting atmosphere for anyone looking to enjoy the best of the California coast.

The cottages are on Camp Pendleton which offer a quiet, coastal stay that feels more like a retreat than a typical lodging experience. The cottages are comfortable, but the real highlight is the location, you’re right near the beach with easy access to the ocean, which makes mornings and sunsets especially peaceful. It has a very relaxed, atmosphere, so it’s not flashy or resort-style, but it’s clean, safe, and well-kept. It’s a great option if you want something low-key where you can unwind, grill out, and spend most of your time outside near the water. We’ve stayed a few times, and each visit has felt calm and predictable in a good way. Overall, it’s best suited for people who value relaxation especially if being close to the beach is the main goal.

While the location is nice. The cottages themselves need a complete overhaul. They're dirty, they're dilapidated, hot water is nonexistent and the ac/heat units are hazards. The money spent on these, you could easily find something much nicer.

amazing... our fellow veterans and family were at the rv camp grounds on 8 January till 11 January 2026 and our stay was amazing... at the beach in January, 70 ish degrees, you can't beat that!!! the staff at the office along with the reservation was outstanding!!! the office staff... Ms. Maria with Mr Ronnie... very professional, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly!!! and along with Mr Feliciano it was awesome experience. Even though there was a short period of power going out on Saturday for a few hours... no problem at all. our entire family was on the sand enjoying the sun and the beach and little game of cornhole!!! Again, thank you del mar beach staff for an amazing experience... till next time... happy 2026 and stay blessed!!! Jose family... 🙏🏾😊🤙🏾

Park Review 1. Park Quality - Decent place with easy access to Oceanside and Carlsbad. Overall the park is well maintained and clean. You can expect a daily dose of sand in your rig, no matter how diligent you are about cleaning your feet. I did not utilize the showers or restrooms so can’t comment on them. I did utilize the laundry and it was pretty gross. Open access to anyone and very poorly maintained. There is a park store but found the hours limited and just preferred to head over to the mini mart or the commissary or Exchange. 2. Sites - With the expectation of a few sites, all are right on the sand. Well packed and easy to set up the camper. Utilities were great with pretty high water pressure. (I tested the water and it is extremely hard. I wish I would have had a portable softener.) 3. Location - As mentioned, location is great for access to Oceanside and Carlsbad. For walking the dog, the Oceanside marina or on Hwy 1 in Carlsbad are really great options. 4. Noise - Like many places right on the ocean, noise is masked by the crashing waves. However, it is an active training base and as such, there can be lots of loud vehicles that will run right along the park to access training locations. Also, helicopters and Osprey flying overhead. Nothing so egresses that it was bothersome. 5. Cell Service - Verizon was two bars of 5G 6. Wifi - There is no park WiFi. For my Starlink, I got 70 Mbps down and 48 Mbps up. 7. Rates - $83 a day plus $3 a day for a dog 8. Access - Of course you need to be a qualified person to make a reservation and utilize the park. Use the main gate and follow signs to Del Mar. Overall, it is very easy to find the park. 9. Dog Friendliness - The walkability is great for dogs and the is a small off-leash park in the El Mar housing area. Also, as mentioned, the Oceanside marina which is just outside the base, is a great place to get the pups out for a nice long walk. Wrapping it up. The price is steep but if you were to book off base, it would be twice as much. The location is perfect and I would certainly return again.

Went to visit my nephew and my son and they took us here. It's beautiful. We didn't stay anywhere we just went to see the sea and walk around.

I recently stayed at Del Mar Beach and Marina and wanted to share my experience. Unfortunately, it was not as positive as I had hoped. Firstly, I found the front desk staff to be quite rude and unhelpful. There seemed to be a lack of professionalism that made my visit uncomfortable. Additionally, the room assignment process felt unfair. Despite waiting patiently in the lobby until the check-in time of 4 PM, I observed another guest being given a room before this time, which was frustrating. Moreover, I was surprised to find that housekeeping began knocking on doors starting at 9 AM on the day of checkout, even though checkout is at 11 AM. This aggressive approach to getting guests to vacate their rooms seems unreasonable, especially since we weren’t allowed to enter our rooms until 4 PM. It felt as though the staff were pushing us out rather than allowing us to enjoy our stay until the designated checkout time. While I understand that circumstances can vary and that every establishment has its off days, I believe consistency and courtesy should be a priority for any service-oriented business. I hope the management can address these issues to improve the overall guest experience.

This is a review for the Marina kayak rental and Del Mar Beach ⛱️🏖️. **Kayak Rental:** I took my granddaughters out for their very first kayaking adventure, and we had such a wonderful time! Corey helped us, and he couldn’t have been more respectful and accommodating. My granddaughters had a blast! When we returned the kayak, we were greeted by a friendly young man—his name might be Cage or Page (sorry if I got that wrong!). He was super helpful and made the return process a total breeze. **Del Mar Beach:** I absolutely love visiting this beach ⛱️🏖️! It feels much safer and cleaner compared to the public beach, which makes it a great spot to relax. Plus, I really enjoy renting a cabana; it’s the perfect way to chill and soak up the sun 😎.

We stayed at one of the 1 bedroom cottages. They are a bit dated, but well kept. The lead right onto the beach and each has its own back patio and grill area. Really a beautiful spot, the service is excellent and the location gets you into easy travel to SeaWorld, the Zoo, the Safari, and Old Town San Diego. As well you are right on Camp Pendleton so food is inexpensive, gas is a bit cheaper and downtown Oceanside is wonderful. It is also half the price of similar offerings in the area.

Great place to relax and enjoy the beach. Who doesn’t want to wake up to the sound and view of the ocean. A full kitchen, grill, and a beach fire pit is provided. A/C, cable tv, nice bathroom area and shower. Great place for adults and kids. Never had any issues with loud neighbors or noise, except occasionally if one of the Marine units is doing training in the boat basin, but I enjoy watching them do amphibious training. This is only available to military personnel, retirees, and some government employees.
