Wonderful stay at DestinArmy Recreation Area, pool, splash pad and fishing pier what more could you ask for. Walked to the waterfront docks and had a great lunch and entertainment at the Edge Sky Bar. Definitely coming back

This is our 2nd stay here. We were told about this place last year (2024) around this same time, while staying at the Emerald Grande. We came over and took a tour, and extended our stay in Destin, right here for the remainder of our vacation. I must say, the staff here are more than exceptional, kind, and inviting. Though it’s look, is not of a 5-star Hotel/Resort, it provided exactly what we needed.. Peace & Quiet, Relaxing, Family-Friendly, Great (as-needed) room service and amenities.. a great place avoid all of the late night noise & shenanigans. Most all Active Duty, Retired, and Veterans that we encountered, were also friendly and communicative. The DOWNER is, the area is pet friendly, so you may end up in a room, and find pet fur all over your clothing after sitting on the beds (especially that little throw that they have on the beds) and sweeping up a lot of fur as well; so if you have allergies, as I do, take your own cleaning supplies to tidy up before getting settling in. And their washers and dryers are old and some are inoperable; but they plan to go up on their prices, so hopefully that means newer or replacement ones.

Great location, nice little one room kitchenette, beds comfortable, right across from the pool. The only drawback was our upstairs neighbors making lots of noise constantly walking around. I think the ceilings are very thin. But everything else was okay. I recommend this establishment for location and helping us veterans price wise.

4.5✨ power kept popping at the shore power for our 30amp camper. You're pretty close to other campers. Love the ability to rent boats, sad the splash pad is broken but it's super neat! And the fact the splash pad and pool over look the bay is amazing

I love everything about this location. We have been coming here for years and it is always a great stay. The location is close to the harbor walk and crab island. I love the fishing pier and boat ramp that offered rentals. The rooms vary in size and there will be one to fit your needs, but always book nearly a year in advance (crazy I know. That’s how popular this spot is). The patio infront of the hotels is the best spot for the sunset photo and hanging out with the family.

First time staying here was awesome! Amazing value for the price. Playgrounds, pool, splash pad, and facilities were excellent for family and everyone was very friendly. Compared to what you get for a similar rate in the area, this blows everything out of the water. Nicely kept grounds, waterfront view and access, and even cookware and a cooktop in the room. Close to everything you would want to do in the Destin area but also off the main strip.

It's not a luxury resort but it's nice. The rooms are decent. The location is not very convenient to town so a rental is needed. Last year the pool was closed. This year the marina is closed. Kind of not happy about that.

Stopped at Destin Army Recreation Area RV campground while passing through the area. The campground is very well kept and maintained. RV spaces are VERY tight, especially for larger rigs, and almost on top of each other. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great location. Price is a little high compared to other MWR facilities we have stayed at, but less than open market. Would definitely stay again. Camped in a 5th wheel.

Great MWR facility. Staff was extremely nice. Grounds were immaculate. RV spots,cabins and hotel rooms. Nice pier for fishing and enjoying the sunrise. Disappointed the Marina is closed due to the government pulling funding. This and other MWR facilities are perks offered to the Military Vets who serve and provide the blanket of freedom. It's a shame and disgrace these services have been closed.

Best area that’s 5 minute drive from everything but away from tourist and traffic. Nice little kitchen room in hotels with 2 burners, toaster, coffee maker and fridge and freezer. Pet friendly and reasonably priced rooms and pet fee. Right on the water and has villas and RV park as well. 2 playgrounds, lots of grilling areas, volleyball, marina, fishing area, pool and splash pad. Rooms are regular hotel rooms but have everything you need.
