Excellent park with a good campsite. Good views of the Hudson with a marina and environmental center. The parks has a few miles of relatively easy trails and is contiguous with Ogden Mills State Park and a historical site. Easy drive to local attractions. Campsite was very quiet the weekend we were there. Dogs allowed and and old but still decent washrooms.

We’ve camped at several NY state parks in the area with my two young kids and this is best described as saying it’s a compact and diverse camping offering. It has hookups for RVs, platforms, regular camp sites and cabins. Sites are pretty close to one another. Sites all had ample shade which made getting solar tough but offered relief from the sun. Only one bathroom and shower facility and stalls were clean with hot water but showers were small with communal changing space out in the open making it hard with young kids. Staff were friendly and helpful. The park store had the standard offerings. Playground was close by and really nice, probably the best one so far and the. Nature trails were beautiful and not overly challenging so perfect for kids.

Nice place to camp for a variety of campers. I solo camped and slept in my SUV. The campsite has firewood that you can purchase and hot showers and restrooms that are within walking distance. Potable water nearby as well to each campsite. 15 minutes away from Rhinebeck. Multiple trails to hike on during the day. And there is also a marina with a nature center. My one problem was that the train passes right next to the campsite and it can be loud when the horn blows in the middle of the night. Beware not all campsites are that level for pitching a tent.

We needed an overnight in the Hyde Park area. Very close to Roosevelt Library and Home and the Vanderbilt National historic site with a superb guided mansion tour. A real unexpected plus was the Staats urg Historic Site right down the road a mile or so. I had never heard of it before. It's a state owned historic site featuring the massive Mills mansion Staatsburg overlooking the Hudson . We could not tour because it's only open Thursday-Sunday, but if we are in the area again we will

I've been hiking here for 20+ years, and it continues to be a place to find peace no matter what else is going on in my life. Norrie has been a deeply helpful and healing place for me through the loss of my sister, my grandmother, and most recently my mother. I can feel them all with me every time I visit. I am deeply grateful to now bring my daughters here to keep them connected to nature and less connected to screens.

Quite an underrated gem of a park! Had a great time geocaching here today and admiring trees. Lots of quartz deposits along the trails and perhaps the coolest waterfront on the Hudson! Esopus Island looks cool!

Great state park!! Friendly and helpful staff at camping site. Sites are clean and wooded. You have choices of platform or regular campsites. Cabins also available. Good running water and nice trails with gorgeous sites of the Hudson River. Quiet time is strictly enforced. Other things to note; The train runs near the sites and for us it was by the hour. Garbage should be disposed daily but here that includes bottles since there's a giant skunk that visited and dwelled in our site for a bit because of the bottles we were recycling. There's a beautiful marina area and great picnic sites there!! Absolutely beautiful. Would definitely visit again!! Hope you enjoy as well :D oh and a stop & shop is about a 15 minute drive.

Loved our camping experience here. The pros although the sites are small they give the illusion of privacy with tree and bush placement. The playground was fantastic and everything bathroom/shower is within walking distance. The playground even had 2 very clean family restrooms. The walking paths were just ok...not the best for small children for sure and a little hard to find and navigate but still very pretty. The staff was top notch the ranger was super kind and so was the young man the checked us in. Loved that they offered a few conveniences in case. Overall I would camp here again with my family of 6 for a short trip...if it were longer than a few days I would recommend a campground more geared towards families with more trail options and more things to do. We went with a group of friends so our kids were entertained by them. Cons: bathroom/shower there are just 3 shower stalls and the water is funny in that back away if someone flushes the toilet lol It was pretty clean and better than nothing. They do allow dogs but no area just for them that I saw. The trail is not little kid friendly

Nice easy walk down by the river. I had a good time watching the boats pass. The complex is large with many different camping areas and a marina as well. I took the trail to the waterfront and spent the day eating my food and enjoying the view. Highly recommend.
