Sep 1, 2025 . Essentially empty except for two other campers. Gorgeous campground with spacious sites; lots of trees; insect & frog soundscapes….and mosquitoes; clean bathroom and showers (with good power). The map doesn’t represent the generous space between sites. (Several others we would have chosen). Also, for camping, at the entry kiosk choose “entrance license” which is good until 4 pm the following day (or the last day of your visit—submit number of days camping—yes, this daily fee is on top of camping cost). It’s a beautiful park for day use, too: small water craft dock; playground; green spaces.

Sites were close to one another and somewhat open. The lake view was beautiful! Pretty quiet place to stay. The bathrooms! Oh, the bathrooms! So clean! And the showers were way above average for a campground.

We stayed in the cabin on the lake. Nice spot but could use more shade. The bathrooms looked new and very clean. The wood situation could be much better, inconvenient to say the least. This is a boating lake, very busy well into the evenings.

Great cabin on West side of park overlooking lake and Dakota sunsets. The walking trails are wide and scenic. Nice restaurant and bar 5 minutes away.

We are driving thru and stopped here. So clean!! The grounds and bathrooms are spotless. (the hot water took long time - be sure you have the shower temp. Control all the way to the left). Long Level sites. In October there were 5 other people here. Would stay again.

Another great weekend spent at our fantastic SD state parks! Camp was clean, shaded and had firewood available. If you forgot anything, there is a gas station within a few minutes of driving. It did get crowded on their small beach, but we had alot of fun biking and hiking on their trail. There is also a kids in the park trail for the little ones with some fun prizes given after you sign up online. Tons of colorful damsel flies and thousands of lightning bugs danced around the shoreline and tall grass. Memories were made!
