This has always been our favorite place to go however now that it is for sale, the place is going downhill fast! We stayed 4 days with no tv, no washcloths, disgusting dirty coffee pot, refrigerator did not work and if you call their “after hours” number for assistance no one answers and the voicemail box is full. Also want to mention, the saloon, restaurant and pizza joint you cannot get anything on tap, as they state their “lines froze”.

Omg. Where do I start? Bartender had to pour out 3 beers to get one! And it was horribly warm! Food was disgusting! Mushrooms tasted like they were bad. I only post when I deem necessary. Shut the doors. Offensive....

Our experience with this property was disappointing from start to finish. The issues began when trying to book a room online and continued through the cancellation process, attempts to contact staff regarding late check-in procedures, and multiple calls to the after-hours number, which never returned our calls. Unfortunately, things did not improve once we arrived. The room was not clean and appeared to be poorly maintained. The shower was dirty, in poor condition, and far from what we expected from a lodging establishment. The beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. Overall, this was easily the worst lodging experience our family has ever had. Every step of the process—from customer service and communication to the cleanliness and condition of the room—fell well below expectations. If there were an option to give negative stars, we would. We strongly encourage future guests to carefully consider other lodging options before booking here.

I wouldn’t even give this horrible place 1 star. Black spiders in the beds. No hot water, moldy coffee pots. Rudest staff I have ever encountered. Don’t even start with the saloon, what a complete joke. I will warn anyone away from this place.

No staff present, everything closed up, arrived to our prepaid spot via the Aramark website only to find out the water main had burst the day befor. Nobody bothers to tell us. Get hooked up and deal with no water for 2 days. Impossible to find any staff on duty. Workers roaming around will not make eye contact and run from locked door to locked door when they see you coming. The location is great, it’s quiet, and that’s all it has going for it. Basically paid boondocking.

Very remote type of wilderness vibe but only 30 minutes from Flagstaff. Rustic environment with warm and welcoming staff.

Great stopover for a road trip, excellent base for hunting, and awesome place for a family trip to the mountains. The staff are awesome, food is great, and cabins are perfect

Web site sucks, doesn't ever work, people working at reservations seem to care less and are of no use. This place use to be fantastic when Forever Resorts and Scott Gold ran it. Now the restaurant has limited hours, limited days it's open and don't even offer breakfast any day. Amarek has run this place right into the ground. They close Oct 31 for the year and don't reopen until springtime, why bother, sell the property to a company that cares for the location and what it could be

Cool in the woods camping. Services are spotty, all closed on Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays, except the camp store. Campsites & RV storage is priced reasonable and sensible.

The establishment has experienced a significant decline in quality. The facilities appear neglected, outdated, and unclean. The restaurant served us cold, day-old prime rib and baked potato. After we addressed the issue with the staff, they removed the food but still presented a bill charging the full amount for the meal. Do not waste your time or money here. Sad because has a lot of potential.

Glorified over-priced vending machine. Apathetic staff and idiotic operation. Stopped in the saloon for some sodas. Bartender indifferently informed us they don't accept cash. Paid card. Asked if they could make change for a game of pool or had a bill changer. Again, a shrug of the shoulders.

Stopped by 1PM on 07/23/25. Restaurant closed. Saloon closed. Store open. Advertise food grab and go. Nothing. I went ahead and grabbed a gallon of water. Cashier said they don't accept cash. Just cards. This place has really gone downhill. The pizza place across the road was closed.And this is peak season.I see now why the streets are empty. I looked at my receipt and saw the reason. The lodje is run by Aramark Corporation. Same ones doing concessions at former North Rim before the fire. Corporate greed at what it does best. Ruining a once enjoyable experience... I won't be back....

What has happened to Morman Lake !!!! This is the perfect example of a corporation destroying a town. No more rodeo arena? The restaurant used to be the best steak in AZ, now it’s awful. Tried the pizza restaurant and was yelled at when trying to order and I quote “ I’m 17 pizzas behind and I have to reheat the stone and I close at 7” it was 5pm. What a joke. Much different place than years past. What a shame. Forgot to mention the cabin we rented was not clean at all.

When big corporate values tries to pass itself off as country hospitality you get Mormon Lake Lodge. They offer mass produced nick knacks, reheated food, poor service, and it’s all held together by plastic; plastic boardwalk, plastic antlers, plastic smiles. The rodeo grounds have been turned into a motocross track, the dust and noise driving wildlife away from spaces they once frequented. So sad.

All character has been removed. Has as much charm as a Maverik gas station. Treat customers rudely. I've been coming to Mormon Lake for fifty years. Never spending another dollar at the lodge. Sad.
