Morro Strand RV Park in Morro Bay, CA | Coastal RV Resort

Location is cool but ownership/management was not good. The owner made the stay very uncomfortable by coming into our camp without any notice and then promptly brought up politics and religion which, for us, was very unwelcome. We felt a little paranoid to leave our camp unattended after that. It was unfortunate because the area is beautiful but we always felt rushed to get back to the camp. No hot water in the bathrooms during our stay. Definitely would not stay here again. I’d just go with a different campground in the same area if we return!

We booked two sites about eight months in advance and were told by the girl who works in the office that we were being given some of the best sites in the park. Then the owner, Larry, called us a couple of weeks before our arrival and asked us to switch sites. Telling us that the ones we had booked were no good and the ones he wanted us in were much better. We declined. Glad we did. The sites he wanted us to switch to were half the size of  the ones that we already had. He was just trying to gaslight us so that someone else could have our spots.
Once we got there the entire back half of our site was completely flooded preventing us from backing in all the way. Fortunately it dissipated quickly. When we mentioned it to Larry he said that we would have to “talk to God about that”.
They do have showers on site but the hot water didn’t work. When my wife went to the office to mention it to them she was told that we were doing it wrong and the way to do it is to turn on the hot water faucet that is on the outside of the bathroom until hot water comes out and then go to the shower and turn on the hot water. I don’t know why we didn’t think of that. By the second day of that we were told that the water heater was broken and there would be no more hot water until it was fixed. That didn’t happen during the remainder of our stay.
Lastly, my daughter and her partner had four storage totes stacked neatly in front of their rv and Larry came over and very rudely told her that they couldn’t have those there and that “this isn’t a storage facility”. Completely ignoring the other campers there who also had totes outside of their rigs.
Overall we were very happy to be in Morro Bay but next time we’re there we’ll seek accommodations elsewhere. Between the facilities being kept in a state of disrepair and, most of all, Larry we have no desire to stay in that park again.

This is a nice basic RV park with very clean facilities and friendly staff. Just a short walk to the beach and also a great walking/biking path to the harbor area, with plenty of restaurants, bars and shopping! We love Morro Bay and will definately stay here again.

A great place to stay Crystal's great she helps a lot of people out she runs the park there absolutely wonderful so if there's any problems she'll help you out anyway she can

Our 30’ Airstream and we love this place- walk everywhere, bike paths, beaches- - I saw a review that said the spaces were small- NOT AT All - we travel in our trailer 3 months a year and this is our second time back here and booked next summer as well. While we love Morro Bay State Park camping - they just don’t have sewer and you need to be on top of your reservations 6 months in advance - not so here - clean laundry area and clean campground full hookups and plenty of space. Walk the beach or Embarcadero in Morro bay, drive to Cambria (art and shopping) or San Simeon for a great hike- endless places to enjoy. Thanks for a great stay (again).

We love staying at this RV park. The deluxe sites are spacious, the facilities are clean. The staff and owner are wonderful. Krystal always greets you with a smile and goes out of her way to help you with your needs.  Within walking and biking distance to downtown. And the view of the Rock is amazing.

Nice and close walking distance to morro beach. Area is a little tight. Area b you can't park your vehicle by your trailer

Place was not very friendly the lady with curly hair gave us the wrong code to bathrooms and when I told her about the mistake she had attitude also first time in the smaller section of park she told my wife that I needed to drop my cab over camper and move my truck outside properly because of the room in the space but there were plenty of people there that had there trucks in lot. Never had this problem ever but the lady thought she needs to show her power over the campers this weekend. Very bad customer service from lady. I will not be recommending this place to anyone of my friends.

I was a little skeptical because of some bad review about their customer service. Since  we there for son basketball game and this is within walking distant so I thought give it a try. We arrived late due to traffic and couldn’t locate our rv spot so I was a bit reluctant to call the after hour number to my surprise the lady was super nice and friendly given me clear instruction how to navigate to my spot. The park for smaller rig is a bit small but it clean and location is good close to beach. I met the lady that I spoke with the night her name is Crystal. Kudo to her she is so nice and friendly I’m glad that the management got the right person that knows and cares about customer service to manage the camp.

If you want to chill and walk to the beach, drive 2 miles to downtown this is the place, nice space, fire pit, THE WIFI WORKS  thank you, we love this place

Great staff and very helpful.

Service from staff is top notch, both in person and over the phone. Location is very close to Morro Rock and Front Street, only about a 3 minute drive which was great.

Park itself is only so-so; just a barely adequate, no frills parking lot with hook ups. Some folks(including us) had to unhook and park out on the street around the corner. Spaces for smaller rigs are very tight and difficult to get in and out of. Took us a good 15 minutes just to get backed in.

Not a terrible experience but will probably go elsewhere in the future.

Quiet, clean park, friendly staff, nice location for walking.  We really enjoyed our stay.

Great amenities.  Only drawback is that you have to roll your own fire pit over to your site.  Mild annoyance, otherwise I would give 5 stars.
