The photo is slightly deceiving, because you can't actually see the ocean from the campground because of some small sand dunes. It's easy to get to the beach on the paths, though, and you can hear it. We've stayed in nicer campgrounds, but being on the beach is really nice. The staff were friendly, bathrooms are decently clean, just aging and needing a little work. All in all, we plan to return. There's a nice dog beach just north, within walking distance. No fire pits at full hookup sites.

We have a little mom&pop camper van and don't require hookups so we always try to get a spot that backs up to the ocean. We can usually find one or 2 nights but if you're hoping for a full hookup spot, you'll need to try 6 months in advance. We've been coming for years and lately it seems nearly impossible to get a week regardless of the time of year. BUT... if you're lucky enough to get a spot you'll love the campground. There is also a city trolly transit stop just up on the road that'll take you into town for a fun day of shopping. Not sure how late they run but I know we've used it at dinner time as well.

This was so much fun camping at the beach!! They have picnic benches and a fire pit, we had s'mores and hot dogs!!! The employees are very friendly and are always there when you need a hand or have a question. Will definitely go again!! 😁

I love staying here for the full RV Hookups. MOST CA State Campgrounds do not have full hookups. Dry camping is closer to the beach. Negatives: Dogs not allowed due to bird nests. There is a dog beach nearby. No shower facilities. Squirrels and seagulls are bold and excessive! Do not feed them!

Fantastic Location and Scenery, Great for Beach Lovers! We stayed at Morro Strand RV Park in early March and really enjoyed our time. The location is hard to beat, offering direct access to the beautiful beach for long walks – my wife and I loved strolling along the shore, taking in the fantastic landscape. Our full hookup RV site was reasonably comfortable and suited our needs well. It's important for fellow dog owners to know that dogs aren't permitted directly on the main beach. However, the park does provide a designated path near the end (on the left) that can be used as a dog run area. While it's appreciated to have somewhere for the dog to stretch its legs, we found the path itself a little bit boring. The park offers both full hookup sites and primitive beachfront sites. We opted for full hookups this time, but the views from those beachfront spots were incredible. They are primitive (no hookups), but we're already planning our next visit and thinking about booking one of those for a week to fully enjoy the oceanfront experience. Having a dump station conveniently located within the park makes the primitive option more feasible. Overall, it's a wonderful place to stay due to the stunning location and beach access.
