NV Patriot

We have stayed in dozens of KOA's in our 30+ years of RV travels. Back in the day when we had small children we would have been thrilled to stay here as it is entirely kid and family oriented. But then, we had a 14' tent trailer! Having traveled for hours on end and hundreds of miles on our way home to Nevada, we were hoping for a nice easy access and quiet pull through for our 38' fifth wheel. First of all, our $99 site was extremely hard to access given the massive cluster of vehicles in roadways, "add-on" cluster tents, lean-to's, etc. The tight area we were located looked more like a homeless encampment than a $100.00/night RV park. For the price, it would have been reasonable for an employee in one of the several golf carts to escort our large rig through the numerous obstacles and obstructions to locate our site. In our case we were forced to circle the maze of congestion, vehicles and unattended children playing in the roadways. We did attempt to ask for help from an employee watering down the dusty roads but were ignored. After several aimless tours of the park, someone finally moved one of their several vehicles which gave us somewhat limited access to our space. Learning from this nasty experience, we were up around daybreak to get out without additional chaos. Even then with people parking within the roads, it required a bit of work to miss their cars on the road without scraping trees. Sorry, we expected better.

We stayed 2 nights at Mount Lassen KOA. The nicest gentleman escorted us to our site. This campground was beautifully wooded and our site was very large with a fire pit and a picnic table. There's a really nice pool and clean bathrooms. The sites meander their way through the forest and are not stacked directly next to each other like a parking lot. It was 9 miles from the North Entrance Visitor Center, Loomis Museum, and Manzanita Lake. Lassen Volcanic National Park was wonderful and this is a great place to stay!

This is our first time staying at a KOA on a recommendation from our neighbors, and this was our first stay at this location. This was just absolutely the best experience camping. They have an area for kids to ride bikes with hills and a trail. They have a fenced in dog park with obstacles. They have a golf area for kids and a spot to build forts out of trees. They have a pool and laundry facilities. The bathrooms were always clean and the showers were always hot! AND FREE!!!! the wifi was the best....mine isn't even that good at home lol. The maintenance guy was absolutely amazing with telling us about the place and he just absolutely loves working there. The lady that checked us in was super friendly and nice. We arrived a day early and it was not an issue. The campsites were clean and the restrooms were a short walk away. I will definitely stay here again. It was also quite and relaxing. Thank you for making our first stay memorable....now we're on our way to our next KOA in Jerome Idaho then on to Yellowstone.

The Dude

One of the nicest KOA campgrounds I have stayed at. Very well kept up with a myriad of activities geared towards families and large groups. It is situated in a beautiful forest of conifers. The parking spots are gravel and mine was level. The hookup worked fine. I used the bath, laundry facilities, and pool - all very nice. It's a short drive to the Lassen Volcanic National Park entrance. Highly recommended for a visit to this beautiful park.

Located just outside Lassen Volcanic National Park, it was perfect for our one night stay. Restrooms were clean. We also took advantage of the laundry room. There were tons of things to do but unfortunately it was rainy so we spent most of the evening in the RV but would highly recommend.

Extremely nice KOA. The staff was very friendly and helpful and kept things very clean. Lots of trees and shade. Lots of things for people to do. Very peaceful. They also had a nice little dog park with an obstacle course in it. There wasn't any grass that dogs were allowed on (and no grass in the dog park) so it was a little difficult to get our dog to do her business but we managed. Nice laundry room as well with well running machines and counter space to fold clothes.

We stayed 3 nights over Memorial weekend. The entire property was clean and well kept, the pool is warm, the staff is friendly. The dog park is fun and there's basketball, tree swings, volleyball, even an RC car area, walking trails, and a place for kids to build forts between the trees. So much fun stuff to do for kids and adults alike. Sundae Sundays through Labor Day are not to be missed--can't say enough good things about this KOA!

We have been to many KOAs, we thought we would stay closer to home to start off the our first camp trip of the season. I didn’t expect much but I was pleasantly surprised! The service truly phenomenal, the check in/store was so sweet and treated our kids like family. The gentlemen driving the cart to check the area is so friendly and nice. The koa itself has some of the best sites I’ve seen for a koa, and the perfect balance of kid friendly, nature and good vibes! It was beautiful and perfect! Thank you, we will add this koa as an annual stop!

Absolutely the best campground we have encountered in many years of traveling with our RV. Facilities and service were impeccable and the staff ( especially MR Tim) were all very knowledgeable about the local area and shared information that made our visit even more enjoyable. Mt Lassen volcanic national park is an incredible place, and Burney Falls is only a short beautiful ride ( one hour) away. Super dark sky star viewing within 1 mile of campground. We strongly recommend this to anyone traveling to or through the area.

Very nice RV park and campground. Nice amenities and nature area in the back. My spot was very level a pretty spacious. I had a full hook up spot. Shingletown is very close with lots of services. The entrance to Lassen National Park is about a 20 minute drive.

We've stayed at several KOAs and this was by far our favorite! The friendliest staff, clean facilities, nice pool and absolutely loved the fun things to do! Kids loved the big swings, yard games and volleyball court! Wonderful, beautiful location! Hope we can stay here again!

Absolutely the best KOA we’ve ever visited! Clean, beautiful and natural surroundings - we enjoyed walking all around, playing horseshoes, swinging on the giant swing!! There was a warm pool, ping pong, volleyball, frisbee gold and so much more fun entertainment for the whole family!! Everyone was friendly and welcoming and such respect for the environment and fellow campers! The cabins were so cute and the Rv sites were great! We had a patio with a table, fire pit and BBq! Thanks Doug for the hospitality - we will definitely return!! Great spot to visit Mt. Lassen!

My wife and I really enjoyed our time at Mount Lassen KOA Shingletown. It was a great trip close to the north entrance of the park. The KOA was clean. Well staffed Tim who is one of the team members. There greeted us around 5:30. We were a little late, checking in. He was very gracious gave us our packet and I saw him till around 9 o’clock each night we were there. He He was truly helpful not only to us to everyone. I saw him come in contact with he made the stay very enjoyable. I would highly recommend this place

My husband and I tent camped here for a couple of nights and loved it. The staff were SUPER friendly, BIG shout out to Patti! She introduced me to their fancy coffee machine and went above and beyond by showing me step by step how to for making a hot chocolate cappuccino. My husband and I also loved the pancake/sausage breakfast they had for all the campers on a Saturday morning. I also loved how they had a fun family movie night for all the kids on a Friday night. The washer/dryer was quick and dried our clothes well, the showers were clean and had plenty of water pressure and hot water, and our tent site had plenty of shade. The first night here there was a camper playing loud music and then he woke my husband and I up at 1 am with hollering out something to where all the dogs in the area started barking but the second night was much more peaceful. My husband and I would definitely stay here again! We highly recommend this KOA and their firewood worked SO well despite it not being real wood. Thank you Lassen/Shingletown KOA crew for being awesome! :-)

We loved our stay! We stayed here for 5 days. The pool wasn’t open but the weather wasn’t warm enough most of our stay anyway. The grounds were super clean and super well maintained. There was a ton of outdoor games and a fun park for the kids. A huge shout out to Patti in the office! She was always so warm and welcoming. She went over and beyond to have the best customer service. She was great! We will be back!
