Great place wooded camping spots. Trails to walk right at the park. Fire wood for sale. Dog friendly.

Possibly the most "park" state park with its large central open area, numerous picnic tables and grills, and very well made playground. While other state parks offer waterfalls or scenic views or historical buildings or huge rock formations, this one seems much more focused on just being a relaxing place to enjoy. The animal facts signs and imprints in the sidewalk are a very nice touch. They really give it that extra special something! The trail system here is very nice, as well. We had a lot to fit in while down in this area, so we didn't get to do as much hiking as we would have liked, but still spent over an hour while barely scratching the surface of what is offered here. Peaceful and serene, well worth visiting. We'll have to stop back again someday to hike the entirety of it.

Very private sites with tons of vegetation between sites. We parked a 22 foot RV in a site and it fit adequately with room for a small Clam at the back. Not very level lots and not all work for an RV so check the site pictures before registering. Quiet and rustic. Very nice.

Beautiful spot. It would be deluxe if there was water and electric. Thankfully, we have our own toilet and shower, but wish there was at least a fill spigot for our water tank!

Nice campground, very peaceful this time of year. Some good hiking trails with wonderful fall views. I was a little disappointed to find burnt and unburnt trash in my campsites fire pit when I arrived, always people like this ruining good things for the rest of us.

Winter walk.. noisy road on one trail which will be better with leaf canopy. Nice playground at parking area

Each fork in the path is well marked so it's easy to understand where you are. There are plenty of different trails, so each visit can be a new experience and you can make it as easy or challenging as you want. Also it's dog friendly and my Buddy loves it here too!

Primitive camping. No shower. Only pit bathroom. Family and group camp sites as well as walk in camp sites. Bike trail goes to downtown New Glarus, which is about 3 miles. Very nicely maintained campground surrounded by trees. There is some highway noise as it is next to the highway, but not enough to cause problems with sleeping.

This is a small state park with primitive camping and pit toilets. We stayed in the campsites where you could drive up, rather than the walk to ones. There was some road noise from the road that is behind the sites, but it wasn't too bad. The toilets were not as bad as they have been in years past, so that's a plus. Not having camp hosts on site is a huge negative. There was one site that was up partying until 2 each night. This has also happened in years past. Some of the sites are really sloped, so if you're in a tent you may have problems. It would be nice if they would let more grass grow at the sites, as they get pretty muddy when it rains. Showers can be had at the pool in town, if it's open. The trails were nicely maintained and we found they were well marked. It's also nice that town is relatively close, so you can combine camping and support the local economy together.
