This well-maintained park offers a secure and welcoming environment just outside the hustle and bustle of the city center. Known for its friendly staff and practical layout, it provides the familiar comforts associated with the KOA brand while placing guests within easy reach of Louisiana's most famous landmarks.
Location & Surroundings
Situated in River Ridge, the park is nestled in a suburban setting approximately 12 miles from the French Quarter. One of the standout features of the location is its proximity to the Mississippi River levee, where visitors can enjoy walking or cycling with scenic water views. The surrounding area is relatively quiet, providing a peaceful retreat after a day of sightseeing, yet it remains close to essential services like grocery stores and local dining options.
Amenities & Park Features
The campground is equipped to handle a variety of setups, offering spacious pull-thru sites and full hookups that cater to even the largest motorhomes. Guests can take advantage of the seasonal outdoor pool, clean laundry facilities, and a dedicated KampK9 dog park for furry companions. The park also provides shuttle service information and local transportation tips, making it much easier to navigate the city without the stress of driving an RV through narrow historic streets.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
While the French Quarter and its legendary jazz clubs are the primary draw, there is much more to explore nearby. Travelers often head to the National WWII Museum or take a streetcar through the picturesque Garden District. For those seeking nature, swamp tours and historic plantation visits are a short drive away. Additionally, the nearby levee bike path offers miles of paved trails for outdoor enthusiasts looking to stay active during their stay.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is an ideal choice for city explorers and families who want a structured, safe environment with reliable amenities. It is particularly well-suited for big-rig owners who require easy access and level pads that can be difficult to find closer to the downtown area. If you value a predictable and comfortable stay while checking off your New Orleans bucket list, this KOA provides the perfect balance of suburban tranquility and urban accessibility.

We stayed in a deluxe cabin for a couple of nights for a comic con. The cabin was set in the shade of live oaks with privacy fence around a beautiful patio area. The cabin, campground, and laundry facility were perfectly clean and very well maintained. The pool area and playground looked great. Staff was friendly. It was nice that they have nighttime security. Camp store had lots of cool souvenir options. Short drive to the downtown convention center. Highly recommend if you want to stay in a nice clean area outside of downtown.

What a wonderful stay! Beautiful, spacious sites, great camp store, pristine pool and covered patio situated next to the pond. This place is a gem, the owners are so friendly and accommodating, even though we didn’t need a thing! They have a great dog park, and plenty of places to walk your dog (just be alligator aware😉 near the water) They are building this campground up, and they’re off to a great start! Will be back for sure!

We stayed here while building our home nearby. This allowed us a unique experience as most people are only in for a couple of nights here and there. Because we stayed here long-term, we really got to see the exceptional staff in so many more ways than someone staying for a few nights would see. The staff at this KOA are beyond exceptional. Every single one of them genuinely cares about every guest and their experience. The owners, Mike and Deborah, are just phenomenal. Two really great people who have a passion for what they do. I truly believe that it is their goal to make sure every person who stays here has a unique special experience, and they do just that. Everyone here goes above and beyond for the guests, and it really is a pleasure to have such an amazing staff. Although it was hard for us to stay in our camper while building, they made it so much easier with their friendly welcome service. There’s also a pool, a playground, recreational room, a convenience, store with food and drink and some great local swag. There’s also laundry on site. What more could you need?

Fabulous place to stay, we just extended our reservation because it’s so pleasant here. They’re always a staff member in eye sight, they’re constantly cleaning or maintaining the grounds, treating ant piles, tidying, and offering a hand with whatever you may need. We stayed at a ‘fancier’ local rv park for a while and they were significantly more expensive and offered less amenities. This place has everything you could need, and smiling faces all around. From the phone call making the reservation to the local recommendations the staff is more than happy to provide, every interaction has been beyond friendly and accommodating.

We last minute stayed in the cabin here and had a great experience. Very clean. Awesome staff. Had every utensil you could need, but you cannot cook in the rooms. Had a grill and fireplace outside. Feels very secluded in the back with the fence around the site, which is nice. Had a broom and swifter just incase in the kitchen. You could adjust the temperature in the bedroom and living room separately. There is a pool on the property but we didn’t check it out. There is a shuttle/tour they take you on at 10:30 am from the main office if you want to go to downtown NOLA that will pick you back up at 5:30 pm as well. You drop the keys right outside of the room on your way out. Overall awesome experience. 10/10 recommend.
