Niagara Woodland Campground
Overview
Niagara Woodland Campground offers a serene retreat nestled within a dense canopy of mature trees in Western New York. Unlike the bustling tourist corridors closer to the falls, this park provides a peaceful forest setting that emphasizes relaxation and a connection with nature. It serves as an ideal home base for travelers who want to explore the region’s natural wonders during the day and return to the quiet sounds of the woods in the evening.
Location & Surroundings
Located in the charming town of Ransomville, the campground is perfectly positioned between the majestic Niagara Falls and the scenic shores of Lake Ontario. The surrounding landscape is characterized by rolling farmland and local orchards, offering a rural escape that feels worlds away from the city. Its location allows for easy access to the Niagara Wine Trail, where visitors can enjoy local tastings and picturesque vineyard views just a short drive from their campsite.
Amenities & Park Features
The park is well-equipped to handle both short-term visitors and seasonal guests with a variety of site options. Travelers can enjoy full-hookup RV sites that accommodate large rigs while maintaining a sense of privacy thanks to the natural layout. On-site amenities designed for comfort and recreation include:
- A refreshing outdoor swimming pool for summer afternoons.
- Sports facilities including basketball and volleyball courts.
- A dedicated playground and a game room for younger campers.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
While the world-famous Niagara Falls is the primary draw, located roughly 20 minutes away, the area offers much more. History buffs can visit Old Fort Niagara in nearby Youngstown to explore 18th-century fortifications. For those who prefer the water, Wilson-Tuscarora State Park provides excellent hiking and boating opportunities. The region is also famous for its fresh produce stands and local festivals, making it easy to experience the authentic culture of Niagara County.
Who This Park Is Best For
This campground is a perfect match for family vacationers looking for a safe, engaging environment where children can play freely. It also appeals to couples and retirees who prioritize a quiet, shaded atmosphere over the neon lights of the main tourist strips. If you prefer a rustic, wooded aesthetic but still require modern amenities like 50-amp service and Wi-Fi, Niagara Woodland Campground provides the right balance for your New York adventure.

Stayed over Labor Day weekend. The owners were very accommodating and super friendly. The festivities were great! Super nice job! I see the improvements(putt putt) but the front bathroom really needs remodeled. Had a great time and hope to return next year!

We have been here for 5 years now. The new owners are constantly updating and making each season better. The putt putt was redone this year and it looks amazing. Our families favorite days are the Kids day, Labor day weekend and the Halloween festivities. The haunted house is crazy amazing. The owners are respectful and always willing to help.

We had a great stay here. Our spot had no grass and many tree roots so it was hard for my husband to use the stakes he brought for our canopy. The owner let us borrow his metal tent stakes for the weekend. We appreciated it and plan on coming back here. Thank you. 4 hr drive is worth it (From Ohio). With a pool and weekend activities, a very family friendly community. Wifi here was better than any other place we have stayed at this year already.

I can not say enough good things about the camp hosts, Tom and Kat. We arrived at camp without reverse in our truck and Tom made sure we got on the water using his own truck! They are constantly updating the facilities and are never too busy to help with anything a camper could ask. Great spot with wonderful people. Location is great for seeing the falls or fishing
