Situated at an elevation of roughly 4,000 feet, this park provides a refreshing, cooler alternative to the coastal heat. The staff were the warmest and welcoming of any thousand trails we’ve stayed at. They truly made the visit 5 stars. We had an issue with a “troublesome” camper that apparently had been causing trouble in other ways as well and the staff went out of their way to find us a spot that better suited our needs.

Great campground in the mountains east of San Diego. Lots of recreation, great hiking trail and close to great restaurant at the junction in descanso.

One of the best investments we have ever made has been an annual camping pass to Thousand Trails, and this park is BY FAR our favorite! The staff is always warm and friendly, extremely helpful, the facilities are wonderful, we love the pool and hot tub (you’ll likely be the only ones using it!) and the nature, animals and views are just spectacular. It’s a birder’s paradise! Thank you especially to Michelle and Ginger for always being super awesome hosts. Love you guys!!
Summer
Pros: So fun! I love that they have free crafts and games for kids and families and cheapish ice cream socials. Beautiful trees all around. All the employees are kind and helpful! Cons: most of the grass is dead, there are no more dinosaur bones for kids to dig up (other vistors probably stole them and ruined the fun for others), the ANTS are Terrible!!! They are everywhere! They have invaded the pool area. People in the pool or sitting at the pool get bit all the time!! The tent sites are full of ants too
Food Cravings Always
Love the place. We have a smaller trailer so fitting in was easy. Location is not too far from some attractions and basics. Indian casino in Alpine off highway 8 is beautiful and same city for Amazon locker pickup. Cool trails on the property, pool and small clubhouse for internet. Dog loved it w so many places to walk. Staff are very nice and helpful. Picture is sitting area outside clubhouse.
