Olema Campground in Olema, CA: Your Coastal Basecamp

Exceptional experience and stay.  A stunning location, cool coastal air, with many trails nearby.  Staff is super friendly and professional, the grounds and restrooms/showers are well maintained.  Laundry facilities and store on-site.  Wonderfully dog friendly!

If you don’t mind sharing space with your neighbors & being next to each other - this is the campground for you. Otherwise, if you’re a seasoned camper & prefer space, ample room with reprieve from the noise and chaos of the daily city living - heed my warning to not camp here. This was one of my worst experiences; every night our neighbors were noisy and inconsiderate of others. Yapping dogs, screaming kids past 10pm quiet time made it difficult to enjoy the time there. The location is ideal for sightseeing or hiking.

This campground is in a lovely location, and my partner and I consider it our absolute favorite nearby getaway. The amenities are fantastic—they offer clean community bathrooms, shared laundry facilities, running water throughout the grounds, and a great little camp store with very reasonable prices.

Unfortunately, our most recent stay a few weekends ago was completely marred by a hostile employee named Gabby (she drives a black pickup truck and noticeably hides her employee t-shirt and walkie-talkie). We arrived at our designated tent area only to find another guest's car parked in our space. When we sought assistance, Gabby was incredibly rude and aggressive. Instead of offering a helpful solution for paying guests, she acted hostile and blamed us.

It's a wonderful facility, but management seriously needs to address this employee's customer service attitude. Just be careful if you run into her!

We camp for ours first time here for one night with my hiking group, we had a very upset situation, we left our stove grill on the table and went for a hiking, when we get back someone took our grill just the grill. When I went to the office the owner said we should use our common sense not leaving things out, she was very rude, never come back here.

I liked this place until it's 5 o'clock and they don't let you listen to music and I rented 6 spaces and it's not the first time we came, it wasn't strong, I don't like it anymore 😕

We had a wonderful group camping trip at Olema Campground! Our scout group booked campsites 1–15 and had plenty of space for everyone — the area is open, clean, and perfect for kids to run around and play. The campground is well maintained with flushed toilets and free hot showers, which made the stay very comfortable.

The air is fresh, the scenery is beautiful, and it’s an ideal spot for families or large groups who want to enjoy nature without giving up basic comforts. We loved how peaceful and spacious it felt. Highly recommend this campground for your next group camping adventure! 🌲🏕️

I love it here! Came here in August and it was perfect weather, I went to the beach and had so much fun! There’s RV hook ups, children’s playground and a little gift shop! My new favorite camping spot! Will be coming back!!!!

My daughter was part of a larger group of 4th graders and their parents who recently went to Olema Campground over the weekend (two nights, two days).

Overall, she had a great time, but that isn't the focus of this review.

One of the boys in the group, a child of color, was targeted by the campsite manager, falsely accusing him of throwing rocks at cars and people. Her behavior was wildly inappropriate: yelling, very confrontational, and racist. Other parents witnessed this and managed to deescalate the situation, but this doesn't change the fact that it happened.

My daughter, her mom, and I are all people of color, and we will not support any business that employs people who are comfortable behaving like this manager did.

Is the campsite nice and pleasant? Yes, but the manager was the polar opposite, and for that reason, we are never coming back here again.

We weren’t sure what to expect with this campground, but we were warmly greeted by a gentleman in the office, which set the stage for our overnight stay. It had been raining, so there were some puddles around and there weren’t very many other campers there. The campground is grassy with a few tall trees dotted around, with gravel pads. It is well laid out with a series of cul de sacs with 8-12 campsites in each one. The bathroom and shower in our area was older, but clean and well maintained.
My husband wandered around and saw sheep grazing in the large area set aside for tents - including twin lambs just born the day before, which was quite a treat.
In all, Olema campground was a great place to stop overnight on our coastal vacation.

Not very far from San Francisco, good amenities (hot water, good toilets, shower, water taps everywhere, WiFi). There's a big meadow great for groups, with a road around it that kids can bike on. Very wet at night but dries up with the sun in the morning.
We didn't do much exploring in the area, but it's definitely not wilderness camping.

We've camped here 3 times now. Great location near Point Reyes, the beach and other great areas.

Campground is well kept up, bathrooms are clean as are the showers. Most RV sites are Water/Power only, but there is a dump station to use on your way out. The loop up front has full hookups. There are also lots of tent sites.

Check-in was easy and they have a small store with a few items and firewood for sale.

If you need more store items there is a store up the road at Pt Reyes.

I stayed 5 days and used the campground as a start point to the Cali coast, San Fran and Oakland.  It was a clean and well maintained campground.  Rates were reasonable.
The difference maker here for me was the people.  I had an issue with my camper trailer and they went far and above.  They not only found me someone to service my camper but assisted him in fixing it.  I was in a pickle, but they set me at ease and had me fixed in less than 24hrs.

I liked it, had blackberries all around the place, the only main problem for me was the bathroom🚻 it had many spiders and I really don't like spiders, they creep me out, other then that, great place! I saw a mama  bird and her baby's! Very cute! I really wanted to hold one

They could make it really nice, but they are reactive and not proactive to the care of the place. Road's and spots for your rv are a muddy mess!

Loved the campgrounds,  very pretty and friendly.  Excellent spaces.

No flush toilets, only porta potties. If they had flush toilets, it would have been fine as an RV camping site.

This is a really great park to stay at for any duration. When we showed up the staff were so friendly and helpful we kind of felt like family. The park itself was really beautiful and had an array of sites that would fit any rig. The amenities were great! I liked how it wasn’t too much. The activities they had were a lot of fun to do as well, really relaxing for all of us. I really like how many beautiful sights there were to see here.
