I wish I could give a glowing review about this place, so I'll start with the good parts. Putting golf for families, they have a pool. Great location to downtown Gelena. Now the part I didn't care for. The park is very cramped. Spots are very small. We wanted a electric water site because we were in a modified van. When we arrived they charged a $50 for a tent spot no water and a long way to restrooms. I told them my husband was handicapped and there was no consideration of making it easier for him. The spot was uneven and we slept at a slant. The part that bothered me is that they charged us $50 when it was a true tent site that should have cost $20. When I spoke to the women at check out they took 10% off but then charged me 3% because I used my card. I knew about the 3% charge before we checked in. So pick this camp ground and please have a great experience.....I didnt!

We stay several days at this campground for a friend's surprise birthday party. There lots of trees for shade. They have hay rides on Saturday and Glow Golf as well. We did not partake in these activities but it seems like it would be fun. It was a little tricky getting into the backup sites as spaces were a little close. There are several permanent campers but they seems very well kept. We did not use the bathhouse or the pool but I would recommend this spot.

A well run campground. A great pool and the staff were friendly. The campsites are close together for RVers but there are some beautiful tent sites. $52 for full hookup so reasonable. We had a good stay and enjoyed some of the many things to do in Galena. I will use them again.

Made reservations in May and was told my site was site 30 as I'm handicap and just had knee surgery when I got there I was advised that I was moved to site 115 The site was nothing but large rocks and mud with very uneven holes from the tractor tire tracks which caused me to twist my knee then to add to the mud and stones the site had no power and after calling the office after a hour of waiting they finally fix the power . I've been coming to this campground for five years and will never be coming back to camp their customer service is not good anymore and they never sent a notification of the change of the change of the site change Knowing that I was handicap. They now lost a loyal customer and I will not tell people to camp there anymore.

We've already rebooked! The perfect location, especially when the wife forgets things. A little road noise. Wal-mart is a 3 minute walk. Downtown Galena is a 9-minute bike ride. Showers were exactly like campground showers. Putt putt and a pool what's not to love. Culvers is about a 90 second walk.

I wish I had a chance to actually write a review. My husband and I have been trying to get in touch with the campground for 4 weeks. I sent in 2 reservation requests. Called three times but they do not check voicemail and do not answer the phone. I never received a response regarding my reservation request. Went to their facebook page to find out that they are open until November 1st. That answered my question. We can't get a reservation because we were requesting later in November. It would have been nice to get a response instead of being ignored.

Camping spots were VERY small, and there was no room for my tow unit. The sewer hookup was behind my camper. Even if I wanted to have a campfire, there was no fire ring or room for one. Shared water spigot with my neighbor. Had to move picnic table and big sticks before we backed in. We were across the street from a lot of full- time campers, who also had to park on the street, so back-in was difficult. Nice pool, and mini-golf. Staff was friendly, not sure about the other campers around us.

We come here once a year and usually everything is great. Not this year! After making a reservation 5 months in advance someone decided to move us from site 31 to a seasonal site, #20. Wouldn’t have been too bad except when the seasonal site was vacated nobody cleaned it up. There was pieces of glass and decking screws laying around and it turned into a mud pit with the rain. At least if you’re going to rent it out clean it up first! Very disappointed!!!

Sites are cramped. Called and was told only 25% full!!!! So… Asked for a QUIET site… and the young girl not only put us up front by the playground but also right next to a buddy site that was over-full with 2 families’ huge campers camping and all their stuff and 3 vehicles, encroaching on our site. They had 6 other empty sites she could have assigned us that were at the far end of the park and quiet. Instead… We got to have kids running thru our site all night and the neighbors yacking it up PAST the quiet time and their campfire smoke wafting into our camper because they were so close to us. Absolutely no call for that! Our worst experience at a campground in 30 years. LISTEN TO YOUR CAMPERS REQUESTS JEEZ!

For the last four years we have visited The Palace for the weekend of the 4th. We have family in Galeena and spend most of our time with them. We always have the kids over to swim and eat one night. Last year, I lost my glitter Tumblr that I had custom-made. The palace took the time to mail it to me at no charge. What May seem like a small gesture was huge for us. We just booked our week this summer and couldn’t be happier!

Came here at the end of summer. The front desk staff was very kind and welcoming. We were the only tent campers in the whole place which was nice. We also did a cabin for one night which is we also quite cozy. The bathrooms were clean as were the portapotties. And to top it off, I forgot my hat and they mailed it back to me!

We came during the country fair weekend so it was packed. However the front office hours were pretty sparse for a full house. Closing before dark on a busy weekend seemed early. No one there Saturday morning at 9am. Wifi never worked since it didn't reach our sites. Playground is very dated. Otherwise clean and pretty.

I can't figure out why people complain about the size of these campsites? Backed in to site 48 and would have room to leave truck connected to 30 ft camper and not blocked the road. These sites are the same size as the beach campground at Holland State Park. This site is the most level site i have ever camped on. No Adjustments needed. Park and drop the stabilizer jacks.

Very scenic older RV park with large trees and gravel sites. Being an older park, most sites are a bit short for larger rigs like this 41 ft 5th wheel. There are several long pull through but many of them don’t have full hookups. When you make your reservations, take a look at the online map to verify the site meets your needs. This park is very convenient to grocery stores and really close to downtown Galena. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would recommend this park!
