Parc National du Mont-Tremblant/Camping Secteur de la Pimbina
Overview
Parc National du Mont-Tremblant is the oldest and largest park in Quebec’s network, and the Secteur de la Pimbina offers a serene gateway into this vast wilderness. Located near Saint-Zénon, this sector is characterized by its lush forests and pristine lakes. It provides a more secluded atmosphere compared to the busier southern sectors, making it an ideal destination for RVers seeking a deep connection with nature and a peaceful retreat from urban life. The park serves as a sanctuary for biodiversity, offering a quiet environment where the rustle of leaves and the call of the loon are the primary soundtracks to your stay.
Location & Surroundings
Situated in the beautiful Lanaudière region, the Pimbina sector is accessed via the village of Saint-Donat, bordering the scenic Saint-Zénon area. The landscape is dominated by the Laurentian Mountains and a complex network of crystal-clear waterways. Visitors are surrounded by towering sugar maples and yellow birch trees, creating a vibrant canopy that changes dramatically with the seasons, from lush summer greens to fiery autumn golds. The proximity to Lac Provost offers stunning waterfront vistas that define the park's rugged yet accessible geography.
Amenities & Park Features
While the Pimbina sector maintains a rustic charm, it provides essential comforts for modern RV travelers. The park features semi-serviced campsites equipped with electricity, as well as unserviced sites for those seeking a more primitive experience. Functional facilities include:
- Modern washroom blocks with hot showers
- A convenient RV dump station located near the sector entrance
- Potable water stations distributed throughout the camping loops
Most sites are spacious and heavily wooded, ensuring privacy between neighbors while accommodating various sizes of travel trailers and motorhomes.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Outdoor enthusiasts will find endless activities within walking distance of their campsites. The Sentier de l'Envol provides a moderate hike with a breathtaking lookout over the Pimbina Valley. For water lovers, Lac Provost is the hub for canoeing and kayaking, with rentals available on-site for exploring the shoreline. Anglers often frequent the numerous lakes for brook trout, while the extensive trail network offers opportunities for wildlife spotting, including white-tailed deer and various bird species native to the Quebec wilderness.
Who This Park Is Best For
This sector is tailor-made for RVers who prioritize peace and quiet over resort-style luxuries. It is best for families and couples who enjoy active outdoor pursuits like hiking and paddling during the day and starlit campfire evenings at night. If you prefer a wilderness immersion experience where the sounds of the forest replace highway noise, the Pimbina sector is an excellent choice for your next Quebec road trip adventure. It is particularly well-suited for those who appreciate natural beauty without the crowds often found in more commercialized parks.

Love this site. They have a variety of trails to satisfy different levels of hikers. Beautiful lookouts. The staff is friendly and insightful. We’ve been walking their trails for years now and will continue to return.

This acceuil has everything you need before you head into the park. From maps and washrooms to basic supplies and firewood to purchase. There are several trail heads here. You can camp close to this acceuil or drive 16 kilometers on a dirt road to lac des sables and stay there.

The Mont-des-cascades trail does not worth to hike specially in witer as it has no good view. but the other trails are good. It's better to put the map on Geai Bleu intersection indicating "you are here" cause it's confusing to find the Ruisseau trail connecting La promonade.
