Beautiful park for hiking! I loved the rope bridge and nearby mini waterfall.

We visited the Hollofield Area of Patapsco Valley State Park and loved it! The hiking trails are scenic and well-marked, perfect for a family walk or a peaceful solo hike. There’s a beautiful river running through where you can dip your feet or cool off on a hot day—great for summer! We also came across a small waterfall, which added to the charm. Overall, a relaxing and refreshing nature escape just a short drive away. Tip: The park fills up early on weekends and summer days, and once the parking lot is full, they close the entrance. To avoid missing out, it’s best to arrive before 10 AM to get a good spot.

Play ground is very nice and park rangers were friendly. Two dollars to enter the park. To get to the river there is a long steep trail down that requires a level of fitness. I was able to go there with my two girls under 2 but def not stroller friendly. The river is beautiful and the bridge is pretty.

A really amazing place to check out that I just happen to randomly find. My best friends & I went to see Poe's grave & then see a friend in Frederick after. We wanted to find a place to have lunch & boy did we find a place. Looks like there's a few areas to the overall park. The view is amazing & there is a trail down to the river. There was a fee of $4, which is totally worth it. They also offer campsites. There is a playground that is a decent size for the kids.

Great place to hike but very rocky. Make sure you wear good shoes. 3 hiking trails we went to the first one 0.5 miles.

Its a great little park. There are some grills on site, tables as well. Camping needs to be reserved, closed in winter season Trails are mostly easy, except the one that cuts straight to river from the park. That trail around 260 foot, >12 incline very rocky, descending is dangerous, ascending is stamina drain, but if you like challenges its an easy one. I added some pictures so you can see, its very short but definitely a climb. ( please do not throw garbage in the forests, its sad to see people throwing plastic bags & other stuff in parks..)

A beautiful place to take a hike. There are no clear pathways so you have to quite often make your own. The place is great for getting in touch with nature.

Vast woods and trails with access to Patapsco River and fantastic photographs. No matter what your photography skills/ technology, this place will make them look good. Union Dam trail was fun. Steep at times as you go down to the river but a must-do! Sit by the river and take in the calming sound of water rushing over rocks n pebbles accented by the wind rustling the leaves with occasional birds and rare annoying human chatter. All in all - perfect meditative afternoon on a Saturday or Sunday. Good workout as well so you are not wasting time. Bring water! Wear good boots that are slip resistant. A light jacket in Fall. And a friend or a pet. I will return.

Beautiful public park area with gorgeous views! The pavilions are spacious and ideal for parties. There’s a playground, trails, and space for sports. The restroom facilities looked nice although we did not need to use them, they definitely looked better than other public parks! Overall, a beautiful space in the fall. Will be back in the spring!
