So glad I stopped and walked the Boardwalk Trail. If you get a chance, go to the nearby Gen John J Pershing Boyhood Home State Historic Site and check out the museum there. Well worth the short trip.

The park is very well maintained and the bathrooms and showers were very clean. The only problem is had is that there was a couple of campers that let there dogs run without a leash. They were less than 100 feet from the host. I have a hard time believing he didn't see them once in the two days stay that they were there.

Beautiful small park with wonderful walks. I went end of May. No bugs! Well flies, but nothing biting this time of year. Paths are well maintained. Facilities very clean, including a washer and dryer ! Get that!! Coin operated. $1.50 each. If you come when not too busy it's a very relaxing park. Lots of woodpeckers so that should tell you something.

Absolutely beautiful & wonderful place to walk the boardwalk trail is 1.5 miles long with a loop. I definitely recommend making the trip I went on memorial day but there is historic sites all around the area along with a very large pecan haha. Honestly this is a great place to spend a day.

The park host is wonderful, and the bathrooms are clean. The shower house is clean and actually has hot water. Great fishing, and it's beautiful. It's one of the best state parks that I've been to in the country!!! Definitely will go back!

We camped here for Labor Day Weekend. Between fishing, hiking, and the hot air balloon festival, it was delightful. So beautiful. Fellow campers were courteous, and the scenery was lush and verdant. We plan to come back!

Great park with a number of very well maintained trails and overlooks. Campground had plenty of fairly private sites. Would love to see the vault toilets get an update, but overall the facilities were in good shape.
