Quiet and serene desert landscape. It's a short adventure from Yuma Arizona.

Nice well maintained park. NOTE: no off-road vehicles allowed. Jeep’s and 4X4’s OK. Picacho road is a washboard most of the time. People drive motor homes and pull trailer’s on it. But I wouldn’t. So I only day use the park. You can also visit by boat. The old RR grade is a interesting trail. It’s narrow and on side cliffs. There is a few soft sand locations. We have had 2WD drive vehicles on the trail. Suggest that you don’t try it with 2WD pickup’s and high tire pressure. The River trail has interesting place’s. Bear Canyon; Loansoms Grave (bring a rock to place on the grave. 4S Camp. A nice place for lunch. Exiting the park via Indian Pass to Ogilby road adds to experience. Don’t try it if you are towing a trailer. If you are inexperienced and will driving a 2WD vehicle I suggest that you don’t try the route. If you are a hiker the trail to the old mill is recommended by my hiking friends.

I love it. When we were there only 4/54 campsites were in use. Very quiet, aside from burros screaming all night. The solar shower is amazing. Every camp needs one.

We loved it there And the workers we so helpful and extremely nice. I wasn't to crazy about the camp host. The drive in was stressful. Once I got there I wanted to stay longer than the 2 nights we stayed. I would love to be camp host and come up with ways to get more people to go there. It's totally beautiful and needs more support for the public.

This is a beautiful area, well worth the drive and the Ten Bucks admission fee. A four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended unless you want to get stuck in the sand. This is a desert landscape photographers dream come true. The shoreline camping, hiking and picnicking areas are beautiful. What a great place.

Great camping experience. Take what you need. No store there. Park rangers do sell firewood. 25 miles from town. Make a list & double check your packout. It's a pain when you forget something.
