This park just has a great vibe. From the second I pulled in, the staff were super friendly and accommodating. Honestly, they make it easy, and that’s what you want when you’re rolling in with your rig. Sites are kept up nice, easy to work with, and the whole place feels well managed. Big bonus: they’ve even got on-site storage, which came in clutch and worked out perfectly for me. Not something you see everywhere, and it made a difference. Overall, this park is just solid. Chill atmosphere, people who actually care, and everything you need right there. Definitely recommend it if you’re passing through or looking for a spot to settle for a bit.

Went for 4 night stay and lost power on the hottest day of the week!! Apparently this happens every year according to one former employee. Spent the night without water and electric and took almost a day to get fixed. We were told to bring a generator if we plan on coming back during hot weather. Also the bathrooms and showers were out, so I wish we would have filled our water tank! That said, we loved the location and amenities. The staff was helpful and refunded one night for us. We would come back, but will be bringing our generator and will be filling our water tank next time. Would give 4 stars but 3 because of the known power issue.

We stayed here for two weeks in the front section. Good site with easy in/out access. One of the nicer Thousand Trails parks we have visited. The park is mostly annuals but they are well-kept. There are only two washer/dryers for the entire park and there is a lot of iron in the water so we opted to do down the street to a local laundry. The bath house in our section was great. It was made up of four seperate full bathrooms so you had a room to yourself when showering. They could have been cleaner but weren't filthy and I used them on several occasions. Our site was level and had enough room to spread out with our Clam and chairs. Good water pressure. Location is good for exploring are small towns and Rockford. It isn't far from Chicago but we chose to not visit the city

We liked this campground, over all. It had a very nice pool, a creek, huge open fields, great campground for walking the dog and myself, a huge pavilion, and on the front right RV loop, a very very nice shower building. On one half of the building, there were 4 sections, each a large room with a toilet, sink, and shower and a full locking metal door! I felt very safe showering there. It’s the first campground this season I’ve come across to have full metal locking doors on the shower room. Wow, I was impressed. There is a Walmart 2.6 miles away, a straight shot down the road which was convenient. There was also a super yummy diner, Ned’s Diner, close by that was personable and friendly and the food was delicious and inexpensive. Yum!

My partner and I absolutely love this campground. It has something for everyone- spacious rv sites, tent sites, cabins and permanent sites. We are Thousand Trails members and stay for longer periods of time, and our overall experience here really is positive. The pool is nice, we love walking our doggies around the grounds, the sites we have stayed on are roomy and the people camping around us, so far, are really friendly. I would say my biggest kudos goes out to the staff here. They are kind and courteous and go out of their way to help. My mom rented a cabin for the weekend and the office ladies made sure she had everything she needed. Janet even helped me with my next booking back here after I messed it up on a holiday weekend! I recommend Pine Country 100%! (Just leave me a site please :) )

Always a great place to stay. The staff are great and very helpful to accommodate you. Even if you need to add more days and not have to move to another location.

I have picked up too good to go expecting desert or sweets. The reason I chose this was it's veriety of deserts selections. But the superise bag was filled with breads. The bread were salty and hard. Very disappointed.

I just wanted to say thank you to thousand trails for opening these places for people to be able to get memberships for such a great value it really helps be able to get out and do things. Of course no place in the world is perfect but they do a good job at all the sites.

We are Thousand Trails members and stayed here one night in Sep 2024 while on a cross-country trip. Since we were there “off-season” the pool was closed and there wasn’t much happening in the resort. The facilities are nice - outdoor pavilions, pool, playgrounds, etc. - it would be a nice destination in season. The community room was open, but there is no camp store and the office was closed. The “rooms” (sites) are nice. Our pull-thru site was roomy enough and level, we had electric, water, and septic. There was also a little shade. We walked around most of the campground taking our dog on walks, so we saw many sites and found them all to be good. On the critical side, there are many sites which are “annual” or “seasonal” sites which are occupied by full-timers. These sites have patios, sheds, park models, golf carts, and personal items stored on site. As someone who paid thousands of dollars for my membership and pays annual dues, it is disappointing to see so many sites being used for permanent residents. This is increasingly making it difficult for members to get reservations, as does the policy to allow “commercial” (non-member) campers. I would guess that 25-35% of the 256 sites are not available for members. We were not impacted on this stay because it was off-season. The regular season is 4/15 - 10/15, but it seems the seasonal/annual campers can stay there year-round. I can’t comment on “service” because we never encountered any staff during our stay. I booked online and checked-in online. When we arrived at 3PM the office was closed and our check-in package was waiting for us at the entrance. The location is convenient to the I-90, but the campground is quiet. It is located near the town of Belvidere. I can’t speak to nearby activities because we never left the park until our departure the next morning.

We stayed on the creek side of the campground. Pros: -sites were large -bathrooms were well maintained and the nicest I've seen -staff is friendly and accommodating -plenty for kids to do, it was Western Weekend when we were there and had stuff for kids all day Saturday -there's a pool, large pavilion, and clubhouse -sewer, water, and electricity hookup is standard and reasonably priced -large grassy areas to play -golf carts are allowed Cons: -LARGE gravel on the sites, making it difficult and uncomfortable to navigate in sandals/flipflops or for dogs to stand/walk/lay on -playground is small with only dirt, prepare for dirty kids -very close to Rt. 90, so traffic noise is present -there are some hiking trails, but seemed to be short and are also for golf carts (one was longer, but blocked when we tried to take it) Overall we liked it, but honestly the gravel was the biggest drawback. I'm used to gravel sites, but this was big enough to be uncomfortable for me and made me not really want to walk around since I'm a sandals person. It was fun for the kids and I would go back if we stayed in a different part of the campground.

We had an amazing time at the early Halloween event. The camp site was nice and well maintained. The cabin was clean. Everyone was so nice. DJ Mikal Clay was awesome. We all had such a good time having fun, drinking, and dancing.

Really nice campground, impressive bathroom in new section, By FAR nicest bathhouse we have ever seen. Group if 4 bathrooms that has toilet, sink, and shower behind a real DOOR! Very quiet and security is on top of it. Have seen them patrol several times since we have been here. DJ at pool on Saturday was great! Love this campground, so far, one if our favorites, and did I mention is has A HEATED Pool!
