We booked a few months in advance and when we arrived the site we were assigned had no trees, no privacy, no table, no shade, it was also right on a dirt road pretty much and under a power line, very disappointing and not our idea of a fun outdoorsy trip in nature. We asked staff to change us to a different location but they told us that there is only one person Lisa who is allowed to change anything and we had to call her, leave a message and wait for her to call us back. We left her messages and waited till end of next day and she never called us back. We ended up leaving to a different park next day, its now been 2 days and we still haven't received a call back. Also, just wanted to share some of my observations about the park, they are fully booked so whatever site you are assigned most likely you will be stuck with; staff is very busy; staff has no authority to do anything bc everything has to go through Lisa who is unavailable; the overall feel of the campground doesn't feel like a resort at all.

This location is a great place , they need and employee upgrade because these ladies are mean and treat you like a pile of dirt ,Maybe they are forgetting we pay for a service that they are not providing ,treating us like dirt is not in the contract i signed and does not happen at other 1000 trails . since the change of rules here by someone who knows nothing of running a park obliviously everything has went downhill. Now they went cashless you can no longer use USA currency at the pio pico campground whats next will you force us to stay insie at certain times. I read a previous review calling this place pio pico prison that is spot on the ladies treat this like boot camp and they are in-charge .You are not allowed to relax or have fun or they will penalize or retaliate and lie on you be carfull

I love how this campground is spacious. There are many sights but each sight has plenty of room. Loved how we could open up our back patio in a field and still felt very spaced out. People are friendly and the location is perfect as it is out in the boonies but still close enough to San Diego in minutes. So quiet and peaceful. The scenery is amazing.

We are new to the Thousand Trails community and we loved our stay at Pio Pico. It’s beautiful and peaceful here. The grounds were very well kept and you could see some new landscaped areas have been recently added. The pool/spa facilities were nice and clean as were the bathrooms. All the staff we ran into were friendly. Cell reception (Tmobile)was no good and I never did figure out how to join the paid WiFi through Jabba. But we went up to the activities center for the free WiFi for school and it worked great. The shop at the entrance of the grounds was very handy, well stocked and had reasonable prices compared to most of the facilities we have had experience with. The long term residents keep their spaces well cared for and the ones we interacted with were very nice. Thanks for the great stay!

I recently stayed at Thousand Trails Pio Pico. I wanted to share some feedback about my experience. Overall, I had a wonderful time, and the majority of the staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. However, I did encounter a challenging situation with one of the rangers that I felt could have been handled with a bit more compassion. On the day of my departure, my electric jack was malfunctioning, and I was unable to leave right at the 11:00 AM checkout time. I understand the importance of adhering to the schedule, and I tried to communicate the issue as soon as I could. Unfortunately, the ranger's response focused solely on the late fee without acknowledging the difficulty I was facing. I believe that a more empathetic approach would have made a significant difference in how the situation was perceived, and it would have helped reduce the stress of the moment. I wanted to bring this to your attention in hopes that it can contribute to a more positive experience for future campers. Thank you for taking the time to consider my feedback. I look forward to visiting again and appreciate all the efforts your team puts in. Wishing you all Happy Holidays.
