No water at our RV site, call the ranger station, good luck it will just ring, they can’t be bothered to answer. Looks like lots of RVs that haven’t moved in years. You know the kinda park this is. The kind where you need to make sure all your things are locked up all the time. Just to try and give the campsite one more shot we had something come up and we needed to book a week close by so I tried Pio Pico again, with tons of spots open they tried to force us into a spot without a dump site and said well you made the reservation only a week ago there’s nothing we can do even though there’s spots open. Almost seemed like retribution. We just canceled on the spot and we’ll go to a decent RV park

Great customer service and I feel safe here. It's nice to watch the coyotes come in at night. I love the sound. I enjoyed the little animals in my campground. Sheila graded me by text and asked how sh could make my stay better. I appreciate that. Sheila is a great manager!

This location is an absolute insult to all Thousand Trails locations and should not share the name. Had this been our very first thousand trails stay, and not our last, we would have never ventured to the dozens of locations we did over the years and for that I am thankful. We have loved and utilized our annual membership up until staying here. This place is a disgrace and I strongly urge anyone wanting to visit to stay elsewhere. Unfortunately the people who run this location are unprofessional, sloppy, disorderly and do not know how to properly run a camp site. We stayed here earlier this month and no one was at the front office and we never received an email that had a spot number. We called and text the ranger several times and never received a response. After a long drive with 3 kids we just parked in the first spot we saw available assuming it was first come first serve since we never were given an assigned spot. The second day a ranger comes up to us later in the day after we were all unpacked and settled and told us we had to move, to an entirely different park! They were so rude and we let them know absolutely not, we were not moving because of their mess up. The lady took it real personal and made it her vendetta to somehow make us pay for her mistake?? She started threatening us and telling us she would have us suspended from thousand trails which we didn't care because this was our last trip on our membership that expired the following week and after this experience we definitely didn't want to renew. But then we got a letter saying we owed a fee for a late check out when we left at 10am!!! What a scam. This lady is absolutely insane that it's laughable. I truly cannot believe thousand trails has someone like that being the face of that campground.

My family booked the activity center for a whole weekend for my grandmother's 90th birthday. People came in from all over the country, some renting cabins, some using tents and some bringing campers. We made preparations 6 months prior with everyone contacting the staff at Pio Pico to book their reservations, the staff was very unresponsive and my aunt who was organizing everything had to personally get in touch with them so that they would return phone calls and emails. Upon arrival, they had us spaced out all over the whole campground instead of putting us in a group together near the activity center. The only people that were near the activity center were the ones that were put up in cabins and then only half of them were near the activity enter, the rest of us were all the way across the road and had to drive our vehicles or walk a pretty long distance to get to the activity center. The day we arrived we were told that we were on a boil water advisory because one of the main lines had broken and the day we left the ground was still dug up with cones and caution tape around it. The second day we were there, upon arrival, the septic system was completely backed up in the bathrooms at the activity center. They did have it fixed within a few hours, however it was very inconvenient because most of us had our campsites all the way across the road and had to go over to our campsites to use the restroom. The following day my boyfriend and I were walking over to the restroom from our campsite so that we could use the showers and the men's bathroom was backed up and had sewage all over the floor. They did take care of it promptly, however it seems like they have a lot of issues with water/septic considering that they had a main water break and two sewage systems back up within days of each other. The place is well maintained as far as cleanliness, however I never once was able to find a trash can or a dumpster to put our trash in the whole time we were there. I think they need a management overhaul, preferably someone that knows how to respond to phone calls and emails in a timely manner and that knows how to manage campsite placement accordingly. I could understand if we had all booked at the last minute, but they had months of noticed and could have set a section of campsites and cabins aside like most campgrounds do, especially considering how much money we brought in. We do this every so many years and this is the most unorganized and disappointing campground that we've ever used.
