2.5 hours up from I-17 and 2 hrs down. Excellent place to hide even if you're not into developed camping and prefer the dispersed sites for their privacy. Like some others have said, I had the run of the place on Sunday nite. I think the drive keeps most developed-site campers away. 4x4 not necessary, but airing down WILL help for comfort :)

Nice quiet little get away. It was interesting to have the little covered area. Kids can have a place to play.. use it for storage staging for coolers. Big enough for a tent too

Neet little place! Never new, just stumbled upon this place but what a great idea... $10 night and you have basic shelter, water, seating and a fire pit, pretty cool for the 4x4's coming up from lake pleasant...

Very cool secluded area. Campsites and bathrooms were clean. Sites were a bit small. We had trouble fitting a 6 person tent. The road from crown king was not bad but I wouldn’t attempt without a high clearance 4x4. My stock F-150 4x4 (and limited off road experience) was more than adequate. Takes about 25 min from Crown King. The lake is great on those 90 degree afternoons.

Nobody there had the place to ourselves it is a rough road to get there

This is one of my favorite camping spots! I would suggest 4WD for the part past Crown King, and check the open dates because they are seasonal. Lean-to, fire pit, grill, and picnic table in every spot, some of which are wheelchair accessible. Stone bathrooms and bear proof trash cans on site as well. This is a paid camping area.

Nice 3 sided shelters, fire pit, grill, picnic table, water, and restroom. Nice trails to run at night to oversee the city lights.

It's a rough ride coming in, don't bring your car, I had some trouble in my truck, recommend 4x4. The campground was cool. Wish I had been able to spend more time, going back to fish the lake.

Super nice camping area with awesome hut's to cook out in or set up your tent to avoid the weather and most of all it's a beautiful place
