Quail Roost RV Campground
Overview
Quail Roost RV Campground offers a tranquil and well-maintained retreat for travelers visiting Florida's famous Nature Coast. Unlike the high-energy resorts found in major tourist hubs, this park focuses on a quiet, community-oriented atmosphere where guests can truly unwind. The grounds are thoughtfully landscaped with native greenery, providing a sense of privacy and comfort for both short-term visitors and seasonal residents. The park is known for its tidy appearance and friendly, professional management, ensuring that every guest feels welcome from the moment they pull into their site.
Location & Surroundings
Situated in the southern portion of Crystal River, the park is surrounded by the lush, moss-draped oaks and palm trees characteristic of Citrus County. Its strategic location provides easy access to Highway 19, making it simple to navigate to local grocery stores, specialty shops, and seafood restaurants. Despite its proximity to these local conveniences, the campground maintains a peaceful, secluded feel, buffered from the noise of heavier traffic. This balance allows guests to enjoy the sounds of local birds and the rustle of pines while staying close to essential services.
Amenities & Park Features
The park is designed to accommodate various rig sizes with level full hookup sites offering both 30 and 50-amp electrical service. Guests have access to essential facilities that make long-term stays comfortable, including a clean bathhouse and modern laundry facilities. The community clubhouse serves as a central hub for social gatherings and indoor relaxation. For those who need to stay productive or share their travel photos, the park provides reliable Wi-Fi access throughout the grounds. The spacious site layouts often include concrete pads or stabilized gravel, catering to those who appreciate a clean and easy setup.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Outdoor enthusiasts will find themselves perfectly positioned to explore the world-famous Three Sisters Springs, where manatee sightings are common during the cooler winter months. The nearby Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge offers incredible opportunities for kayaking, paddleboarding, and birdwatching in crystal-clear waters. For a unique day trip, the Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park is just a short drive away, featuring an underwater observatory. During the summer, visitors can enjoy the local tradition of scalloping in the shallow grass flats of the Gulf of Mexico, located just minutes from the park entrance.
Who This Park Is Best For
This campground is ideal for active retirees and adult travelers who prefer a calm, low-key environment over bustling, amenity-heavy family resorts. It appeals most to those who enjoy nature-based activities like fishing, boating, and wildlife photography. Because of its wide access roads and spacious sites, it is also an excellent fit for big-rig owners seeking a reliable and accessible location that avoids the cramped feeling of more densely packed coastal parks. Whether you are staying for a weekend of manatee watching or a full winter season, it offers a stable and relaxing home base.

We have spent 6 years here as snowbirds and absolutely love the staff here as well as the friends who are like family! Everybody looks out for one another and helps each other! This is a small park at a reasonable price it might not be the Taj Mahal to some but it sure is to us! We have activities, crafts, bingo, nightly games with friends, pot lucks and entertainment! Every park has issues within it but there is no place we’d rather be than Quail Roost! Kudos to Jodi and Debbie and Russ and his staff and Darlene and Pete who keeep the place so clean! Can’t wait to get back amongst friends who are like family! ❤️

Quail Roost RV Park is a community of friends within the park. Most everyone gets along & we all help one another out. Of course, there are a couple that like to complain about everything. The updates with the electric & the stone in each site is a welcome improvement. The manager, (Jodi) has been friendly & helpful at fixing issues. The maintenance crew Have been working hard to make the park look beautiful. I am so thankful that I found Quail Roost RV PARK & all the dear friends I’ve made.

This is in response to the review from sills. Sorry your stay was unpleasant. I did see your reservation was sun to Wednesday. Our power was out on Wednesday and turned back on the same day. but it did not effect the side you were staying on. The only side effected was the one side due to updating our main power boxes. And for the pool being shut down I am sorry that the law states it can cause illness with no circulation we can not let people in the pool. Again I do apologize for any inconvenience.

Don’t ever stay at Quail Roost Campground. We made our reservation on a Saturday and arrived on Sunday. On Wednesday, the electrical power was off for 8 hours for repairs. No one told us one of our days would be dark. On top of that, the pool was closed due to no power for circulation. 82 • in Crystal River Florida. Staff should have told us. Never again!!!!
