Almost didn't stay here because of the reviews and didn't expect much. Here overnight. I've passed by many times over the past 15 or so years but never stopped because of timing; tonight made sense to stay here. I'm showing 5-stars, but I'd give it slightly less. I usually don't review campgrounds because they meet my expectations, this exceeded them. Recognizing it's mid-November, not many spaces are occupied and all the water features are closed so can't really comment on them although they appear to be in pretty good shape. As I sit here, next to the open area behind the office I'm looking out on a number of kids and a family (mom/dad and 3 kids) playing half-court basketball. Other family members sitting in the bleachers watching them. Other families have been coming/going. Immediately in front of me is a children's playground which appears to be in great shape with mom/dad and a little one playing. Took a look around to walk the dogs and check out the other facilities which include a pole barn for group activities, another covered area near the office with what could be a stage, and a mini-golf course. the activity center is to the east of the office along with another small activity building. The pool next to the office seems nice and has a gently sloping shallow end that easily serve as a wheelchair ramp (although I'm not certain that's permitted). Outsides of the cabins appear to be pretty well maintained. Couple of small lakes for catch and release fishing and, of course, there are a few alligators supposedly (it is Florida after all!) Office is clean and neat, providing for normal camping needs. Young lady who did the check in was efficient and very polite; great experience there. I went back and had an enjoyable conversation with her about the park on my walk with the dogs. Like many parks, we were guided to the spot by a golf cart although the young man who did it didn't stay to see if I had any questions. Not necessary, but would have been nice.. I always check out campgrounds on Google Maps to see how they're laid out and where tree cover could be a problem. When I looked at this yesterday it appeared that many of the spots were hemmed in by trees and could be difficult to maneuver in. That couldn't have been further from the truth. The tree cover is large live oaks that provide great shade with no obstructions, providing nice, big, wide-open spots. Although about a mile from an exit, it's right off I-10 so you still get a lot of traffic noise (not as bad as many though). Facilities could use a bit of paint here and there, but generally it's a pretty nice campground. I would definitely stay here again. It's just the wife and I traveling, but if we were younger and/or traveling with kids, there's quite a bit here to keep the young ones occupied.

We had really high hopes for this campground but were pretty disappointed overall. Some staff are extremely rude at check-in and clearly should not work a holiday weekend - or any busy days for that matter. The lazy river was disgusting and not cleaned at all throughout the day to the point where globs of hair and bugs stick to you if you brave the water. There were German cockroaches IN the sand surrounding the lazy river. Trash at the dumpster was so built up by Saturday night the campground smelt horrible. Large Tree limbs loosely hanging above the campsite just waiting for a strong burst of wind to come down. The one upside was the play park was great and you could tell was pretty new, the kids loved it. However, we won’t be staying here again.

It was my families first time here and we had the best time, the atmosphere was amazing and the people there were great. The maintenance crew did a wonderful job on the fireworks as well as keeping things running as well as the staff in the main building. Only bad thing I could say is the beds were so uncomfortable but again you’re there to camp so beggars can’t be choosers rights?! lol

We are a tired family traveling back home from Orlando. This was a half way point on our way back home. The kids were tired of riding so we thought “hey this would be a fun stop and get plenty of energy out.” We use to camp here often when it was a yogi bear park. We have the best memories from then. Sadly this trip was not the case. We checked in at 5pm with scatter thunderstorms so of course the waterpark was closed. The playground was nice and the kids enjoyed that but they were excited to wake up in the morning to enjoy the waterpark. We get up bright and early when the office opened and to our surprise the waterpark doesn’t open until 11am (coincidentally the same time you have to check out) If you’re a parent with kids you can imagine the reactions we were given when we related the news. The campground is outdated. Bath houses were not dirty but older and cobwebs were at the top of the showers. The staff was nice. I do not like leaving reviews if they are not 5 stars but the comment code given in the packets did not work. $116 is expensive to only experience a playground which we could do for free.

My daughter made reservations and paid 340.00 for the first night stay. Not even 20 minutes later she had a family emergency come up that changed her whole plans. So she called them right back and explained to them what happened and they told her I’m so sorry to hear that. We will refund your money due to the circumstances. Now it is almost three weeks later no refund and now they are saying no refund. They are rude and inconsiderate. I really thought being a FAMILY campground they would be more compassionate. Come on! It was 20 minutes after she made the reservation. Live by your word and refund the money like you guys said you would. Customer service is important when you run a business. Terrible customer service at this business. No compassion and understanding to their customers. BE CAREFUL WHEN MAKING RESERVATIONS WITH THIS COMPANY! CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL! This is a response to your comment regarding this situation. My daughter has called you every day since your response. They are still refusing to talk to her about this matter. I don’t know what is going on but it seems like there is a lack of communication with your employees. I would appreciate this matter to be taken care of. Your employees are not following protocol if refunds are given if cancellation is on the same day. I would like someone to please handle this.
