It is a place where the natural rhythm of the woods dictates your daily schedule.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in the beautiful Outaouais region, the park is nestled within a landscape of rolling hills and over 700 bodies of water. The Lac Écho area is accessible via well-maintained gravel roads that wind through dense woodlands, providing a scenic transition into the wild. This location serves as a gateway to the rugged backcountry, offering a landscape dominated by diverse maple and birch forests. The surrounding terrain is iconic to the Canadian Shield, featuring granite outcrops and crystal-clear lakes that define the region's geography.

Amenities & Park Features

The Lac Écho campground features specific sites designed for RVers, including several options equipped with two-service hookups for water and electricity. While the atmosphere is intentionally rustic to preserve the wilderness feel, the park provides essential comforts including clean washrooms and shower facilities. Travelers will find a convenient dumping station on-site to facilitate longer stays. To enhance your experience on the water, the park offers on-site boat rentals, including canoes and kayaks, allowing you to explore the lake without hauling your own equipment.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor recreation is the primary draw at Lac Écho, with exceptional brook trout fishing available in the surrounding lakes for those with a valid permit. Hikers can explore several winding trails that offer glimpses of local fauna, such as white-tailed deer, beavers, and occasionally moose. For birdwatchers, the canopy is home to a wide variety of boreal species that are active throughout the summer. Paddling along the shoreline of Lac Écho provides a unique perspective of the reserve’s diverse ecosystem and its quiet, secluded bays.

The Réserve faunique de Papineau-Labelle is a vast and diverse wilderness area in Quebec, offering a true escape into nature. Spanning forests, lakes, rivers, and rolling hills, the reserve is a paradise for hikers, anglers, wildlife enthusiasts, and photographers seeking unspoiled landscapes. The area’s network of trails and backcountry routes provides access to dense boreal forests, sparkling lakes, and peaceful river valleys. Photographers can capture stunning reflections on calm waters, dramatic sunrise and sunset light over the hills, and seasonal changes that transform the landscape from lush greens in summer to fiery reds and golds in autumn, and a snow-covered wonderland in winter. Wildlife is abundant: moose, black bears, beavers, and a variety of birds inhabit the reserve, providing opportunities for intimate nature photography. Canoeing or kayaking on the lakes allows for unique perspectives of the forested shoreline and serene waters. Réserve faunique de Papineau-Labelle embodies the rugged beauty and tranquility of Quebec’s wilderness. Its combination of accessibility, diversity, and photogenic scenery makes it a premier destination for anyone looking to connect with nature and capture its timeless charm.

A beautiful, extensive park with 44 or so lakes to chose from. We went to Lake Kennedy several times because it has 6 bedrooms and we're numerous. The cabin comes with a rowing boat where 4 adults or 2 adults and 4 kids easily fit. Gorgeous wild nature, secluded though not hard to get. Safe for a kids. Wild ducks, frogs, fish, turtles, an occasional friendly racoon, a big lake, the sounds of nature, with no noise, pollution or publicity to bother you. It's hard to find such a beautiful and relaxing place for the price paid.

Beautiful lakes and cottages. Only downside is the road. I followed google maps to route 23 and almost stuck there

Beautiful quiet place. Long road to a campsite but the advantage is you are truly in a natural setting
