The Réserve faunique de Papineau-Labelle is a vast and diverse wilderness area in Quebec, offering a true escape into nature. Spanning forests, lakes, rivers, and rolling hills, the reserve is a paradise for hikers, anglers, wildlife enthusiasts, and photographers seeking unspoiled landscapes. The area’s network of trails and backcountry routes provides access to dense boreal forests, sparkling lakes, and peaceful river valleys. Photographers can capture stunning reflections on calm waters, dramatic sunrise and sunset light over the hills, and seasonal changes that transform the landscape from lush greens in summer to fiery reds and golds in autumn, and a snow-covered wonderland in winter. Wildlife is abundant: moose, black bears, beavers, and a variety of birds inhabit the reserve, providing opportunities for intimate nature photography. Canoeing or kayaking on the lakes allows for unique perspectives of the forested shoreline and serene waters. Réserve faunique de Papineau-Labelle embodies the rugged beauty and tranquility of Quebec’s wilderness. Its combination of accessibility, diversity, and photogenic scenery makes it a premier destination for anyone looking to connect with nature and capture its timeless charm.

A beautiful, extensive park with 44 or so lakes to chose from. We went to Lake Kennedy several times because it has 6 bedrooms and we're numerous. The cabin comes with a rowing boat where 4 adults or 2 adults and 4 kids easily fit. Gorgeous wild nature, secluded though not hard to get. Safe for a kids. Wild ducks, frogs, fish, turtles, an occasional friendly racoon, a big lake, the sounds of nature, with no noise, pollution or publicity to bother you. It's hard to find such a beautiful and relaxing place for the price paid.

Beautiful lakes and cottages. Only downside is the road. I followed google maps to route 23 and almost stuck there

Very nice easy hiking trail. Some wildlife may be observed.

Beautiful quiet place. Long road to a campsite but the advantage is you are truly in a natural setting

Spent a weekend at Lac Écho. Great spot for camping and very well maintained by the employees. Garbage and bathrooms are cleaned daily.

The Lac Joinville Camping area is pretty crowded , noisy place, lots of of big groups with kids and babies. I would have thought it would be a different type of camper. Our site (#25) was awful, dark, swampy, Dreary spot. The lake is beautiful. If you want peace and quiet this is not the place for you.

Could improve roads but great day with family

Lovely camping spot. Clean and calm. Consider that the road to get to the camping sites is quite long, slow and VERY bumpy. Was rough on a Mazda3 but its doable if you have reliable car. No cell service at lac echo. -camped there end of May 2020

Beautiful Park with gorgeous views and lakes. The camping spots are secluded, quiet and offer a real camping experience, but come with a swarm of mosquitoes, horse flies and bitting midge especially early in the summer. You could be lucky and come across dear or wild turkeys crossing your path. Which seem new to this region. Warning, the road that goes across the park should only be attempted by large 4x4 trucks and SUV's as it has parts that are washed away, very rocky and unlevelled. Enjoy the Great Northern Quebec.
