R B R state park has very nice accommodations. I wish the fish cleaning station was functional. Lights not working and no running water. Light bulbs out at the cottage entrance. Inside was nice and clean.

Great park with an awesome lake that is not busy. Many coves to hang out in or hang out in the main channel!! Cabins are in nice conditions with some work needed done to the docks. It was a bit pricey I feel for what you get buy hey, you get a cabin on the water with a dock so who's complaining. I feel total pice should be just under 200/night not over 200. Staff was friendly and nice. Quiet place for a family getaway! We will be back next summer for sure!!

Stayed in a lakefront cabin in January primarily looking for dark skies for star/planet gazing; worked out great. Cabins are functional, a little worn with a screened deck, picnic table, inside fireplace and outside fire ring. Each cabin has its own floating dock (all the docks are different construction and modestly different sizes). Our cabin was about ~50 feet above the lake with a downhill dirt path from cabin to dock. All in all, skies were clear and we had a great time.

Beautiful park, great trails, encountered no souls on the hike other than a few deer and the presence of Mother Nature.

The campground is awesome, great sites, good water pressure and clean. Bath house could use a remodel but they keep it clean. Nice docks to fish or park your boat while you're camping. Beautiful and had a great time.

I didn't get to explore much of the park because of the weather but what I did see was good. The beach area and trail was clean and well maintained. There was very good signage as we drove through the park. I did manage about half of the trail before I turned back and it was simply beautiful being out in nature in the rain.

My family and I recently spent a weekend at Richard B. Russell State Park. We stayed in one of the cottages, which was conveniently accessible with a keypad entry – a nice touch since we arrived late. While the park offers a decent 18-hole golf course (I'm not a golfer, so I can't speak to its quality), hiking trails left something to be desired compared to other larger parks. There were enough options to get some exercise, though. We tried our luck fishing off the pier but only managed to catch a few small bass. The beach looked nice, but the cooler weather kept it empty. Luckily, we brought our kayak and had a great time out on the water. The cottage itself was a bit of a mixed bag. While it was adequate, the shower facilities were just average, and the kitchen was less stocked than we had expected. Overall: If you're looking for a relaxing weekend getaway with some outdoor options, Richard B. Russell State Park could be a decent spot. For keen hikers, it might not be the best choice, but it offers golfing, fishing, and a place to unwind. Just be sure to manage your expectations for the accommodations. Tips: -If you're arriving late, the keypad entry on cottages is very convenient. -Bring your own fishing gear and potentially kayaks/canoes. -Don't expect luxury accommodations in the cottages – they're basic but functional.
