It was perfect for our family reunion. We used the Lodge as our base and some of the cabins and yurts so everyone could have their own place to settle in for the night. The lodge was extremely well fitted out for cooking and entertaining. A large kitchen and a big dining table made it a natural gathering spot as did the comfortable sofas in the big living room area. There were 4 large beds upstairs and two bedrooms downstairs. The king bed master had a separate bathroom and plenty of storage. The fenced in yard allowed the dogs plenty of space to roam while we used the comfortable outdoor furniture to gather around the propane firepit. I can attest to the comfortable bed and the ambiance from staying in a log cabin lodge. Staff were very helpful and pleasant to interact with. Nice trails along the river were great to explore. We visited in October when things were quiet. A perfect weekend.

We held a family reunion the first week of October at the Riverbend resort renting several cabins for each family unit as well as the Lodge for getting together. It was an excellent time as everyone was comfortable and relaxed in their personal accommodations and in the lodge. All locations were fully stocked with all the kitchen appliances, dishes, silver and utensils we required. The location was quiet and easy to access from Parksville. The outdoor spaces were great for fireside get togethers and games. We had a wonderful time and fully recommend it to all families. And yes, we're booking the next reunion there as well.JM

Beautiful surroundings. It was good for a family reunion. I didn't have a bed to sleep on. I had to sleep on the sofa with a foam mattress. My reservation was for 3 but I think we may have gotten the wrong cabin.

We had a wonderful stay at Riverbend Resort RV! We drove all the way from Alberta, and it was absolutely worth the trip. The place was peaceful, relaxing, and just what we needed for a break from the busy city life. The cabin was clean, cozy, and well-equipped with everything, from pots and pans to fresh towels and crisp, clean sheets. It truly felt like a home away from home. The lake was beautiful, and we enjoyed the calm, scenic surroundings. What made it even better was the warm and welcoming community within the resort, it created such a comforting and friendly atmosphere. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet and rejuvenating getaway. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

Very nice and meticulous grounds, amazing. Also amazing was arriving very late/pitch dark and the staff had left the inside and outside lights on to welcome us, even the tv was on! We’ve stayed at a lot of hotels and this was the first time we’ve encountered this. Also, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We needed a room to include our dog, which the hotel accommodated. The room had everything we needed, drawers and cupboards full of pots, pans, utensils etc. The room included a kitchenette. We were disappointed that we weren’t able to use the microwave, there was rust inside it which I mentioned when we checked out. I highly recommend Riverbend Resort!

Wow, what a change since the new "management team" has taken over for the owner. Customer service is definitely an oxymoron with this new group. Reserved a site for our son & young family which was supposed to have 30A service. During a heat wave this was very important to have A/C running in the full exposure site. Turns out once settled in and hooked up it was discovered the site has to SHARE a 30A breaker with and adjacent site! Both sites could not run A/C simultaneously and had to co-ordinate appliances accordingly otherwise the breaker trips which had to be reset inside a locked building. The staff knew this fault existed but didn't advise the campers until they discovered it on their own. The "management team" claimed they have had a difficult time getting an electrician on site. I think they are simply letting the maintenance on this increasingly shabby RV "resort" decline.

Edit: we talked to Heather the owner of Riverbend. She assured us that our past interactions with other staff were unfortunate and that she was taking care of our issues. It turns out that due to the extreme hot weather BC has been experiencing, bats had snuck into the roof. Hopefully they will not come back now. The model RV park unit was clean, beach access was adequate, beach itself is very nice. Good location to amenities nearby (like mini golf, rathtrevor, downtown). Roads are quiet and one way inside the resort which is a bonus with little kids. However we did find parts of the playground unsafe (bolt and nut loose on one slide, wooden ladder rung broken on another playground, a second slide incorrectly attached -too short and too steep to safely slide down). Management knows and is working on upgrading the playground (they explained some parts had been vandalized earlier and they have fixed the swings). Our unit was missing a cutting board, and we didn't have some items such as salt, pepper, cookie sheet, baking pan, which would have made cooking easier. Other things to consider: lots of tree coverage, open area near playground for games. There is an eating area and BBQ beside playground so it is easy to cook and watch kids. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely loved renting a cabin here they were able to take our reservation with short notice and we even came earlier then check in was and they had the cabin ready. So quiet even though the main road is close by. You get free access to the river and beach there. The price was also super great! I will 100% be coming back to stay when I visit Parksville again.

We loved the bachelor cabin! It was perfect for two people, but could accommodate more with the futon. It's got a fridge, stovetop, and dishes, as well as a full bathroom and all bedding and towels, so all you need is yourself and the food you bring. Loved the smell of the real log cabin, and really appreciated the cleanliness. The little beach beside the river is nice and would be a great spot to swim or fish from. We would love to come back and stay longer when we have the opportunity as there's lots to do in this gorgeous area. Big thanks to the kind staff for being accommodating to our needs!
