My wife and I had a permanent spot in the campground for over ten years. God, we really miss it. We fished and biked to the river or just sat around the campfire. It was a long drive from camp, but we loved going to eat the famous porterhouse steak and mudpie desert. Yes, we really do miss it. Its only 13 hours from where we are now I think its a plan.

Had a great time here. only issue is that the electricity went out for like 12 hours and that made the showers break so we couldnt shower the first night Otherwise super beautiful, camped in my Model Y juniper Also did some running outside the camp, was fun

We were really looking forward to our trip, but unfortunately, this campground fell short in a big way. The staff was surprisingly rude and unhelpful from the moment we arrived. We asked to move sites to be closer to our friends—something that seemed reasonable, especially since there were clearly plenty of open spots all week. They flat-out refused and acted like we were asking for something outrageous. To make matters worse, we saw another family get moved not once, but four different times during their stay. So apparently the rules are flexible, but only for certain people. It felt really unfair and made our experience frustrating instead of relaxing. Between the staff’s attitude and the inconsistent treatment of guests, we won’t be coming back—and we won’t be recommending this place to anyone either.

Great spot for camping easily accessible river. Beautiful spots. Might want to not let kids alone near river as the current is a bit strong.

Awesome campground. Very clean and bathrooms and showers were amazing. Most sites were shaded and right on the Kern river. Will be back

Went to the Kernville 2024 beer festival. It was a rocky beginning. Unorganized at the entrance with the tickets. Once we were in, it was better. Food lines were long but moved quickly. Restrooms maintained throughout the event. It was our 1st time going, so we were unprepared. Bring folding chairs! The event needed more booths selling items, such as t-shirts, caps, and beer mugs, that represent the event. "THE 2024 KERNVILLE BEER FESTIVAL"

Check-in was smooth and professional. Adhere to their rules and limits here. If you try to exceed their limits, they will catch you. There was one of these checking in in front of me. But they have these rules for safety reasons and to ensure that everyone has a good experience. Dogs are allowed, leashed, and you must clean up after them. If camping in campgrounds is your jam, you'll enjoy this one, but it's too full of humanity for me. The bathrooms are decent, but on a Labor Day weekend, when the campground is full, 2 out of 6 of the women's showers are out of order. The lines for women to shower are incredibly long. Lots of trees here, campsites for tents and RVs and lots of river access.

Site was great until the entire campground decided to party right in front of my site. When I called the front, she told me "Oh well, nothing we can do." It was loud and people continued walking through our site. When asking the front again, they said, "Just be nice." People were loud and partying until 2 and 3 am. We canceled next year on the spot and they didn't seem the slightest bit concerned about our issues. I don't complain, but it was either that or get into it with people. They're the worst and prices more than doubled. Over all....not going back after years of making it a traditional every June. Bye Rivernook, going to another camp site. Just horrible.

Great campground on the Kern river. Staff was very polite and helpful. All the essential things covered for RV and or tent camping. Close to town and services.

I was excited to get out of the city and away from all that comes with it. But alas...there is now graffiti art on the buildings at Rivernook. Disappointed.

This is a great spot for family and friends Kids are able to run around yell and laugh and not get looks from people because they are being kids I’ve been here two times in the summer and have had nothing but fun 2021 low river no water in the creek 2020 was awesome creek full of water Spots are a good size but are really close to each other so if your looking for some semi privacy or distance from your neighbors you will not get that here Restroom and showers were always in good condition sometimes really clean and sometimes just okay but never bad Showers can get crowded at about 4pm and on sometimes there is a wait I wish the showers were open longer sometimes cooking and having a good time can interfere with showers times and be closed by then We will be back late March so let’s see how that is

Went for a fall get away! Absolutely beautiful with the yellow leaves falling..still plenty of shade. Spaces for all sizes.. large area..definitely do not feel packed in like so KOAs etc... no complaints...liked that there is a gate code. We did see 🐻 in the camp ground! We fished and walked the property and had camp fires. Great family time.. spaced big enough to handle our Class A and Jeep.

I had been looking forward to staying here for over a year. With everything going on I had to cancel/rescheduled a few times. I finally had a 4 day booking for Labor Day weekend but checked out after just one night. Other campers do not adhere to the camping noise regulations and the campground staff definitely do not impose them either. Our neighbors across the way were loud and had their music blasting past midnight. There were other campers being loud and playing music past ten as well. The campsites are quite small and no space whatsoever between your site and the next. The women’s bathroom needed some attention as there were huge spider webs everywhere. I don’t mind bugs at all but I also don’t want to do my business or shower and have webs that close to me with dead bugs and live spiders on them. The only pro this campground has going for it is the river access but was also disappointed that there are homes on the other side of the river. I thought it would be more secluded. Needless to say, I’ll stick to camping in National and State Parks and forests.
