Absolutely wonderful and love this time of the year with the fall colors and coming up from Colorado Springs! So cozy with the low clouds šā¤ļø

1st time here now that they have electric sites. RV camped in town 1st night...over $100. With the senior lifetime pass it's only about $28 here.

Lovely campground. Bathrooms were kept clean (although it was other campers who were making it their mission to trash them). The views were great, spots were nice and spacious and super close to a ton of amazing trails

Since my wife was out of town, my sister decided to come out for a week to keep me company. We spent Saturday and Sunday up in the park and had a wonderful time. There was a mixture of cloud and sun , so it was nice and contrasty (š) for photography. On Saturday afternoon, we saw a lot of animals all up-and-down the different roads of the park. Such majestic animals. There is such a difference in the weather when you start going up higher towards Bear Lake. It seems like we had a little bit of summer mixed in with winter. Always something to see and enjoy when you get a chance to get into the park.

Hung out for a tailgate lunch after exploring Bear Lake. Had hoped to see some elk- but oh well, next time! Beautiful spot for a picnic. A good fishing spot as well, quite a few fishermen came and went while we were there.

We had the pleasure of taking a tour with Yellow Wood Guiding, aka Jared the guide and owner. We started about 3:15 and went until 7pm, Iāve taken off roads tours and such before and this one will forever be special to us, Jared gave us a customized and unique experience I could never have done myself. Thereās an elevation to your experience when you have someone as knowledgeable and friendly as him, he kept us informed and entertained the whole time while also keeping us on a schedule so we could see and do everything we wanted. I donāt feel like I missed anything even though i know thereās so much more!! Iād recommend this tour highly! The deer, elk, moose, lakes and stunning views along the drive throughout the park was so cool! We will have to come back in another season so we can experience more!!

We came in mid/late October to see the elk in the rut. We were not disappointed. We've been before in July/Aug and seen more elk. The bugling was incredible. If you're willing to get out of your vehicle and take a hike in the various meadows, the rewards is worth it!!! Absolutely amazing!

Great place for elk viewing during the rut in the fall. Right around sunrise is prime time. You'll need to get your timed entry pass as soon as they are released! But if you don't, fear not, you can (1) nab one at 7PM the night before, (2) get up super early and be on Bear Lake Rd before 5AM (and randomly see an aurora like I did!), or (3) park at the Y and walk in about a mile on the Tuxedo Park trail. Keep your distance from these guys! Pack your longest lens.
