Gorgeous Wilderness area with plenty of shaded and sun hikes. Perfect for a day outdoors with family or your horses. There is a large horse camping area which was being upgraded while we were there. No dogs allowed. The rangers are outstanding and friendly.

Stayed at Caspers Wilderness Park in our Airstream and had a great experience. The full hookups made our 5-day stay comfortable and easy. The park has beautiful hiking trails and a really interesting wilderness center. Nights were peaceful with coyotes howling in the distance, and we even had a fox wander through our campsite. Such a unique nature experience. We’ll definitely be back again.

Have no idea how this location is since it was fully booked when I arrived.   It looks lovely on the maps.

Also of note,  it is a wilderness preserve and thus does not allow domesticated animals on site.

Very low key outdoor area. Multiple day camp areas, plenty of spacing and ample bathrooms.

They have a wilderness center that’s good for kids - stuffed animal replicas, magnification, games, a little theatre room and little crafts.

There are two campsites that are open now, make sure to ask if you need electric hook ups, one has it and the other doesn’t. It’s a $6 difference $20 and $26 for the electricity.  The area without electricity seemed way more busy but not packed, and there are a lot less spots in the non electric area.

Went couple of times and some cub scouts were here having a good time but our family still had plenty of space to have a good time at the park and playground.

Not much to do at this park. Fire ants always all over the place, consistently. Bathrooms are scarce. Hikes can can be an option or visiting the Nature Center. fun if you have a big group but remember to camp away from the ants.

5 stars for convenience. You want to get away from it all but not too far? This is your place. It's one of the few OC parks which offers camping, 30 minutes from the beach, and can offer dark skies. Fire pits and firewood are offered, which I find contrary to SoCal fire prevention warnings. However, we all appreciate an open fire during a cool evening.

Great park. I love it. I usually visit a few times a year. Went camping a few years ago and want to go camping again. I usually go to the "Old Coral Picnic Area" when I go for day use. The Nature Center is pretty awesome as well. The park has A LOT of hiking, biking, equestrian and multi-use trails.

Site #12. We have visited this OC County Park several times camping in the Live Oak Loop. The last time we were there, drought had caused the closure of restrooms and showers, but relatively clean Porta-Potties with hand wash stations are scattered around. Very friendly Rangers stopped by to chat and made us feel welcomed. Miles of hiking trails with great views of the surrounding hills. We didn't get to visit the Nature Center but will try to the next time.

RV campground with power and water hookups. Yes, it is next to the hwy but the noise was not annoying plus at night was super quiet. We could hear the owls and coyotes, the campground was super clean and park staff super welcoming and helpful. They also have wood bundles for $5.00

One of the best spots to hike in the area. Amazing views. Good variety of challenging trails with shade and sun. Bring a hat and more water than you think you need. Main trails are well maintained. Some more adventurous ones a tad overgrown.

Beautiful campground with an amazing nature center. Full of kid friendly educational opportunities about wildlife and native plants! There’s lot of animal specimens and even a few live snakes!

My wife and I took our 12yr old daughter on her first camping trip. Chose this campsite in particular because it has indoor bathrooms and showers. I figured those would be good facilities to have for a first timer. We had a blast! I always forget how much fun it is to just be around a campfire looking at the stars and enjoying the perfect weather. If you're looking to just enjoy an easy and fun weekend of camping, I definitely recommend Caspers!
