This is my second time to Salamonie for hiking the Bloodroot Trail. The trail was in great shape after a bit of snow - no mud or bugs to contend with. The park was very quiet & we didn't see any other hikers that day. Nature Center is operating on limited hours for winter.

I've been wanting to go here for years my sons and their friends rent a pontoon for the day and we go out on the lake the reservoir actually you can see the dam you can swim in a couple of coves and you can drive the Pontoon past a couple of bridges it's really cool you can swim off your own pontoon if you can get yourself up out of the water onto the Pontoon after you get in the water but I had a great time and I'm going to do it every year from now on

We hiked the Bloodroot trail. It was gorgeous and very flat. Long stretches are beside farm fields and the heat there was more intense. The visitor center was closed so don't count on being able to use the restroom or refill water bottles there unless you happen to run into a ranger.

We stayed on the Bloodroot Trail near the South trail head by Mt. Etna. A wonderful campsite that worked great for our hammocks! The views from Site #6 are our favorite! The vault (pit) toilet is about a mile away by the boat launch. The ground is really tough to dig for a cat hole. Enjoy your stay!

I stayed overnight in the horseman campground. Everything was beautiful and well-maintained. Park staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Trails were stunning. Absolutely will come back.

The lake itself raises and lowers depending on the season, up stream will take you into the Salamonie River that had alot of history. I was around when it was in its prime but it is still nice now. Some small ponds hold Bluegills and bass. Frogs and turtle can be found also. Mushroom seasons bring in alot of visitors so be prepared for company.... on the downside there are a group of people who trash the place and totally disregard DNR rules and regulations. Attempts have been made but language barriers are present. I personally have saw and reported violations to no avail......yet. some basic education at thier end is needed.

Campground is clean and decently spaced, would be rated higher if they had water on each site

My first time ever there. Great fishing areas and the scenery was breathtaking! I will definitely return just for the scenery!

Would have gotten 5 stars, however, they don't enforce their own rules. Loud ppl past 11, dogs off leashes, the people before us obviously didn't clean up after their dog or themselves, hard to find a quiet spot when boats come right up to the public beach area and start arguing with their kids/fishing, just overall annoying visit. The scenery is great and facilities are ok. Seems like a frequent spot for a certain crowd. 🤔

I honestly just love this place, 3 Falls Trail is probably my favorite trail in northeast Indiana. It's just a beautiful trail that gives you breath taking scenery. Another one of my favorite things to do at Salamonie is catching a sunset or rise on the dam. Absolutely beautiful! If you live in Indiana or just visiting I would strongly recommend Salamonie
