Sam Parr State Park is one of our absolute favorites close to home. My youngest requested his fishing birthday party out there this year. We had rented a pavilion to host the party at. It was the perfect place! The pavilion was large and had plenty of electrical outlets for us to use. There were plenty of picnic tables for us to use as well. I would highly recommend this area to anyone who would like to host an outdoor party or event!

Had a great time. There are multiple spots to park, bathrooms, pavilions, playgrounds, trails, open fields and more. The campground is at the end. Great place for the family, kids and dogs.

We camped here the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday before Memorial Day in a tent. We used a site with an electrical hook-up, so we could air up our air mattress. The weather was beautiful. We enjoyed a fire Tuesday night. We covered the grated provided with aluminum foil and cooked smoked sausage. We brought our dog along. There were pit toilets, but no showerhouse. There were nice playgrounds and shelter houses in the campground and the picnic areas. There at least two boat ramps for launching motorboats and kayaks. Bank fishing was available at the picnic areas. I saw a fisherman catch a small bass from a boat. He said he had caught a bigger bass earlier that morning. I came back in the fall and the colors and scenery was awesome.

One of our favorite state park campgrounds. Very well maintained, gorgeous scenery. Close to town for the little things like ice or anything you forgot.

Nice park centered on a lake. It would be a nice place to paddle. There are plenty of boats fishing. Contained a few nice trails. Nice picnic area to spend a day

6$ a night for tent camping. Some times IDNR come around to collect money but you can go to the office. 18$ a night for rv/ camper sites. Bathrooms are okay, always have toilet paper. The pump station on the rv site is very good, worth the 18$ you spend. Great walking area and trails are only 3.0 miles or close to that. Allows hunting also.
