Hanna Flats is a great campground for those looking to really get back to nature. Beautiful area! ✨️ Clean campground. Really great sites. Ours had a huge, beautiful, oak tree! Prime spot. Lots of outdoor enthusiasts like mountain bikers, motorcyclist, and 4x4 clubs have trails to explore outside of camp. Located in Fawnskin and very close to Big Bear lake. So much to do! Just be aware, there are no bathrooms as you know it. No flush toilets or sinks. Only Vault toilets and spigots outside. This is true camping! 🏕.

Great campground not to far from Fawnskin. Lots a tree cover and a heart hike or bike to Greys Peak.

We go every summer as a family. Sometimes, twice. We were just there this past weekend and weren't disappointed. Never are. We stay in the same spot every time. As you can see, there's plenty to do. Especially off-roading. The color of the truck is gray in case you're wondering. There's also open shooting in designated areas so long as there's no heat restrictions in place.

Definitely would stay again! More wildlife compared to camp serrano in big bear. (Bugs) but werent a problem at all. Camp host in site 50 was very passionate about her job and the wildlife. We stayed at 68/69 double site for 8 people. 3 tents. 2 4 person tents and 1 6 person tent.

Perfect spot for tent camping! Highly recommend this campground if you’re looking for a place that feels like you secluded but is still within 20 minutes driving distance of creature comforts in town. The surroundings are beautiful, the camp host was very helpful, and each reserved camping site is in close proximity of restrooms and potable water. The 2 mile dirt road off the main road is part of the charm!

Went camping with my family and friends. We had an amazing time. Definitely would come back. We didn't have any issues.

Simply amazing place! We absolutely adore here. It was about 20 minute north west of big bear so not lot of people coming by, which for me was a huge plus. They have this amazingly beautiful trail. One was 7 miles long, which we didn’t go lol. The other was 2.5 miles long, a perfect distance for your little kids! It is very well kept and clean overall. They have this metal bin on every site that you can safely store food without animals trying to get your food. They do have a lot of bird. I mean A LOT of birds. If you leave any snacks outside accidentally, they are gone 100%. WILL COME BACK HERE.

We just stayed for Friday and Saturday night and had a great time! Great campground! The camp host made his rounds and was available, but wasn't intrusive. The bathrooms smelled good on Friday, but were definitely smellier by Saturday night, but still clean. No flushing toilets, as noted on the rec.gov website. No sinks or mirrors, but a water faucet outside the bathrooms. No showers, but we brought a basic one and it did the trick. The map makes it look like there is more space between sites than there is, however, our spot felt nice and roomy, spot 87. There was enough space between neighboring sites though that it did not feel crowded. Wood was available to buy for camp fires, we brought our own though, but some had been left behind by someone else and we left behind what we had left over. The bear box easily held our medium cooler and other food items and dishes. We did not see any bears though. It felt like most of the people who camped there were there "to camp", not party, so overall, it was very quiet at night. The dirt road to the camp ground is pretty long, probably about 5 miles. Most of it is maintained, but there is a couple of miles that is not maintained and is very rough, especially if in a car. We drove through the Serrano camp ground, near the lake and it also looked very nice and roomy. Definitely a more convenient location to the town of Big Bear. They had full bathrooms with stalls, sinks and soap and separate, individual shower rooms. Easy push button showers, clean, but the water didn't get very warm. I might try Serrano next time, but Hanna Flat was still a great place to tent camp!

Stayed at campsite 86. It's a very spacious site in a family-friendly campground, but once your neighbors arrive you guys are basically on top of each other. The hosts are very friendly.

A nice campground, relatively clean bathrooms and access to water. It’s not too far from big bear lake, if you wanna do some fishing or what ever at the lake, depending on the time of year. My wife and I went a while back with my cousin and his wife, safe to say we all had a good time camping here. A little crowded for me but overall not a bad place to camp. I would recommend going with a truck or SUV with some clearance, smaller cars like sedans will have a difficult time considering the road is very rough and bumpy.
