San Diego RV Resort - Sunland

We had a wonderful stay here and would definitely recommend it! The campground was very clean, the grounds were beautifully maintained, and it was obvious the staff takes great pride in keeping the property looking its best. Everyone we interacted with was incredibly friendly and welcoming. One of our favorite surprises was Sangria Saturday—such a fun touch! The location is another huge plus. It’s just a short drive to SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo, and several beaches, making it an excellent home base for exploring San Diego. My family and I had a fantastic stay. The only downside is that the campground sits right next to a major highway, so it can be pretty noisy, especially if you’re hoping to relax outside in peace and quiet. That said, we slept with a sound machine at night, and the traffic noise wasn’t much of an issue while sleeping. Overall, the value for the price is excellent. Between the clean facilities, great amenities, friendly staff, and convenient location, we’d absolutely stay here again. In fact this was our second stay and we’ll be back!

Looking forward to a great 250 year celebration today. Always a great time at Sunland San Diego RV resort. Thank you for a great time and Happy Safe 4th of July to everyone!

Bathrooms and laundry facilities were excellent. Gym was well appointed. Sites are roomy but tucked here and there which makes parking of vehicles confusing and tight. Be aware wide creek separates park and you may have to work along road without sidewalks to access pool, gym, and office.

This was the first time staying at the resort. Check-In and parking my 37' travel trailer was a breeze. The only observance my wife and I saw, it seemed like there more long term residence instead of just brief camers at the resort. Not a big deal but kinda through us off guard. The resort is very clean and secure. It is noisy from 8 frwy and San Diego trolly running next to resort.

The park is nice and neat. I like the way the spaces are not cookie cutter straight in. But angled in the area we stay. It was very convenient to San Diego to were my son lives. One big draw back is the freeway noise as we were parked… super close. If I book again I will definitely pay more for a creek side so I can hear the frogs at night and a tad less freeway noise.

We really enjoyed our stay here and felt the pricing was very reasonable, especially for the area. I noticed some reviews mentioning traffic noise, but the resort is right next to the highway, so that’s pretty expected. We did hear some traffic at night, but it wasn’t enough to bother us. I had requested a site farther from the freeway, but we ended up right by it. That said, we booked using a Black Friday deal with a solid discount, so I’m assuming that’s why and I don’t have any real complaints about it. The property itself was great — clean, well maintained, and comfortable. Our neighbors were quiet and respectful, and having direct access to the trolley was a huge bonus and made getting around very easy. The only downside was one time when I needed assistance. I couldn’t find the gate code, tried calling customer service multiple times during normal business hours, left a voicemail, and never heard back. Because of that, I’m giving it 4 stars. Aside from that, it was a great stay and I would definitely stay here again.

Spent the month of December 2025 there, everything was great, great staff, lots to do in the area, pool/hot tub, game room for kids and us adults and yes a fitness center as well.

We spent the last 6 months here. The facilities are awesome and everything is always taken care of. This is due to the staff. From the lady who cleans to the gentleman who take care of the grounds to the management. Top quality at all levels. Location is incredible. You are central to every aspect of San Diego. The trolly being right there is a game changer. Communication from the staff was always useful. The functions that the staff would have from waffles and mimosas to the holiday events is so much fun. Basically if RVing into SD. This is you place. Cannot be beat.

Just had our third stay this year at the RV park. We love it!! Location is perfect especially for visiting family friends, easy freeway access and the park is maintained well. Love the palm trees on site and the landscaping is beautiful and cared for constantly. Staff is always working and they’re so nice. the Christmas light addition last week was a nice surprise. Looking forward to returning at the end of the month!

This is our first stay at the resort. We were greeted by very friendly staff, check in was a snap. The spaces are arranged nicely and you have a decent size patio and spot for the tow veh at most sites. The location is roughly 15 minute drive to downtown San Diego, Balboa Park and the waterfront. There are quite a few long stay RVers so the resort has a lot of people keeping an eye on things. The pool and main office facility has that retro look and although older, is very well kept. Bathrooms and showers look to be recently remodeled and are kept immaculate. The only reason for 4 stars is the noise. The freeway boarders the resort and it's rather loud. It's not too bad inside the RV, but too loud to sit outside for any length of time.

The resort was very nice and clean and the check-in experience was very pleasant. We and our pup enjoyed our strolls around the park. Our only issues were with the noise from the highway, which we are not used to, and the closeness of the sites. If these things don’t concern you, it would certainly be a nice place to stay while visiting the San Diego area.

Hello, this is the second time we have stayed at Sunland RV Resort, San Diego. 5 Star all the way. Great location, walking distance to the metro which will take you anywhere you want to go. The resort has a nice pool & large clean shower’s and restrooms, laundry facilities as well. Note we will be back again next year. Thank you Sunland, San Diego Warm Regards Doug & Kelli D

San Diego RV Resort, AKA Sunland RV Resort is a nice enough place, with quality amenities and a clean facility. It's a little cramped, the pool was freezing, and the freeway noise is constant. But the location is convenient, the restrooms and showers are clean and nicely appointed, and the staff are helpful and friendly. Watch for occupational discounts and deal bundles to save a little money, because it's not cheap. But it's quite convenient being so close to a trolley stop.

We are very blessed to call San Diego RV Resort our home 🏡 ❤️. We have been on the road for three years now and have stayed at many RV Parks around the Western States, and this is by far the cleanest, safest, and most friendly staff we have encountered. Bathrooms are new and big and clean. Have a great workout room. Heater huge pool and HOT hottub. They treat us like family and have many fun activities. We love it here! Thank you, Jennifer and Natalie!
